Download or read book Seditions written by Heribert Boeder and published by State University of New York Press. This book was released on 1997-06-30 with total page 428 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is the first book-length work by Heribert Boeder to appear in English. The essays brought together here, several of which are to be found only in this volume, bear witness to a new perspective on metaphysics, modernity, and so-called postmodernity. The "seditiousness" of Boeder's undertaking lies in his twofold intention: to explicate what has been thought in metaphysics, modernity, and postmodernity as self-contained, rational totalities--as history, world, and speech, respectively--and by means of those explications to recover dwelling as it has been made visible in the "configurations of wisdom" (for example, in Homer, Paul, and Holderlin). He approaches each of these totalities by way of Heidegger's thought, which marks the limit of modernity and as such is pivotal to Boeder's enterprise.

Book Synopsis African Diasporas by : Aija Poikāne-Daumke
Download or read book African Diasporas written by Aija Poikāne-Daumke and published by LIT Verlag Münster. This book was released on 2006 with total page 150 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book investigates the development of Afro-German literature in the context of the African American experience and shows the decisive role of literature for the emergence of the Afro-German Movement. Various Afro-German literary and cultural initiatives, which began in the 1980s, arose as a response to the experience of being marginalized - to the point of invisibility - within a dominant Eurocentric culture that could not bring the notions of "Black" and "German" together in a meaningful way. The book is a significant contribution to the understanding of German literature as multi-ethnic and of the the transatlantic networks operating in the African Diasporas.

Book Synopsis Husserl and the A Priori by : Daniele De Santis
Download or read book Husserl and the A Priori written by Daniele De Santis and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2021-06-09 with total page 331 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book presents a systematic discussion of the development of Husserl’s concept of the a priori from his early and through his later writings. The chapters contained herein analyze the different phases and aspects of Husserl’s phenomenology of the a priori in light of his twofold notion of reason, construed as both ontological and transcendental. Starting from the assessment of the introduction of the notion of a priori knowledge in the context of the Logical Investigations, this text uniquely explores its development during the Göttingen years. It is at this time during his work on The Crisis of European Sciences, that Husserl comes to see the a priori as a criterion to interpret the history of philosophy, notably, modern philosophy. This book sheds light upon such concepts as: essence and eidos; ideation, eidetic attitude and eidetic reduction; as well as formal and material, innate and contingent a priori. The author argues that the a priori becomes for Husserl the expression of an ontological form of rationality, i.e., the rationality immanent to being. This book appeals to students and researchers working on Husserl and phenomenology.

Book Synopsis Metaphors for Leading – Leading by Metaphors by : Stefan Jung
Download or read book Metaphors for Leading – Leading by Metaphors written by Stefan Jung and published by V&R Unipress. This book was released on 2019-06-17 with total page 261 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Metaphors are used increasingly in leadership theory and leadership development. How do leaders view themselves and how are they seen by others in terms of metaphors? One can find a wide range described in publications and on coaching websites. They range from gardener and coach, to manager or priest. They all help describe the underlying view on leadership and give insight into how leadership is influenced by our metaphorical view of the world. However, little work has been done on describing the influence of cultural perspectives in metaphors used in the area of leadership and organisations. How can we bring to the surface the hidden metaphors that shape our thinking subconsciously? How can we utilise old metaphors of leadership in a new and globalised world? This volume documents the central results of an interdisciplinary conference on metaphors and leadership in which scientists from Africa, Asia, Europe and North America took part.
