Gender effects on the relationships were also explored. A total of 200 participants recruited from Prolific.co took part in this study, with one being excluded from the final sample. They were asked to complete a series of self-report questionnaires. The results supported the existence of bivariate relationships between the predictors of belonging, burnout, and work-life balance, and self-reported mental health, but did not support the expected moderating effect of gender on any of these relationships. Limitations of the study, and implications of the findings, were considered.
