The chief advantage which the writers on the side of Infidelity have had, and which they have well understood how to use for the service of their cause, has been drawn from what unguarded expressions, and injudicious and unfavourable representations they could pick up, out of the writings of its Friends, which they turned as arguments against Religion itself. This hath occasioned several points to be reconsidered of late, by which means they have been set in a better light, and explained with greater accuracy. But it is presumed that this work hath not been lb fully and completely executed, with regard to the whole and every part of Religion; but that it may be still farther carried on, and admit of farther improvements.
