Book Synopsis Discontinuous Control Systems by : Igor Boiko
Download or read book Discontinuous Control Systems written by Igor Boiko and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2008-11-18 with total page 217 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book provides new insight on the problem of closed-loop performance and oscillations in discontinuous control systems, covering the class of systems that do not necessarily have low-pass filtering properties. The author provides a practical, yet rigorous and exact approach to analysis and design of discontinuous control systems via application of a novel frequency-domain tool: the locus of a perturbed relay system. Presented are a number of practical examples applying the theory to analysis and design of discontinuous control systems from various branches of engineering, including electro-mechanical systems, process control, and electronics. Discontinuous Control Systems is intended for readers who have knowledge of linear control theory and will be of interest to graduate students, researchers, and practicing engineers involved in systems analysis and design.
Book Synopsis Practical Design of Flight Control Systems for Launch Vehicles and Missiles by : N.V. Kadam
Download or read book Practical Design of Flight Control Systems for Launch Vehicles and Missiles written by N.V. Kadam and published by Allied Publishers. This book was released on 2009-06-15 with total page 380 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book gives in a concise and easy to understand form the various aspects of Practical Design of Flight Control Systems for Launch Vehicles and Missiles. It covers almost every aspect of Flight Control System Design which a designer would like to know, such as mission considerations, control requirements for various segments of the flight trajectory and different types of control effectors. It further gives generalized equations of motion with a novel method of incorporating structural flexibility and propellant sloshing which does not require rederivation, and very easy and common sense approach to deriving slosh and gimballed engine dynamic equations. Subsequently it gives the control system configurations, power plant sizing, loop design for linearised system and detailed analysis and design of on-off reaction control systems. It also covers various software features which are necessary for actual implementation of the design in flight missions, robustness features to avoid malfunctioning in some circumstances, design validation aspects including end-to-end sign checks and describes some flight experiences which called for design updates. The book is unique for its strong practical flavour and is directly useful to the working engineers in the field and post graduate students in Aerospace Engineering.

Book Synopsis Discontinuous Automatic Control by : Irmgard Flugge-Lotz
Download or read book Discontinuous Automatic Control written by Irmgard Flugge-Lotz and published by Princeton University Press. This book was released on 2015-12-08 with total page 177 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Discontinuously working elements (on-off controls) are widely used in automatic control systems. From an engineering point of view they are attractive because they are nearly always Simpler, more rugged, and cheaper to build than continuous controls. But prediction of their effects in the controlled system is sometimes so complicated that engineers have avoided discontinuous control where it would have been preferable to continuous control. Book Synopsis Self-Oscillations in Dynamic Systems by : Luis T. Aguilar
Download or read book Self-Oscillations in Dynamic Systems written by Luis T. Aguilar and published by Birkhäuser. This book was released on 2015-10-01 with total page 163 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This monograph presents a simple and efficient two-relay control algorithm for generation of self-excited oscillations of a desired amplitude and frequency in dynamic systems. Developed by the authors, the two-relay controller consists of two relays switched by the feedback received from a linear or nonlinear system, and represents a new approach to the self-generation of periodic motions in underactuated mechanical systems. The first part of the book explains the design procedures for two-relay control using three different methodologies – the describing-function method, Poincaré maps, and the locus-of-a perturbed-relay-system method – and concludes with stability analysis of designed periodic oscillations. Two methods to ensure the robustness of two-relay control algorithms are explored in the second part, one based on the combination of the high-order sliding mode controller and backstepping, and the other on higher-order sliding-modes-based reconstruction of uncertainties and their compensation where Lyapunov-based stability analysis of tracking error is used. Finally, the third part illustrates applications of self-oscillation generation by a two-relay control with a Furuta pendulum, wheel pendulum, 3-DOF underactuated robot, 3-DOF laboratory helicopter, and fixed-phase electronic circuits. Self-Oscillations in Dynamic Systems will appeal to engineers, researchers, and graduate students working on the tracking and self-generation of periodic motion of electromechanical systems, including non-minimum-phase systems. It will also be of interest to mathematicians working on analysis of periodic solutions.

Book Synopsis A Survey of Stability Analysis Techniques for Automatically Controlled Aircraft by : Arthur L. Jones
Download or read book A Survey of Stability Analysis Techniques for Automatically Controlled Aircraft written by Arthur L. Jones and published by . This book was released on 1951 with total page 120 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A survey of the stability analysis techniques for automatically controlled aircraft is presented. The survey is limited to techniques commonly applied to linear, continuous-control systems wherein the difference between the output and input quantities is measured continuously and is used in the operation of the system (a closed-loop system). An evaluation of the techniques, based on the kind and amount of information derivable, is included. An illustrative example is also presented to demonstrate the calculations involved for a typical aircraft-autopilot combination.
