Book excerpt: American Kulak offers a warning that socialism is on the rise in America, especially among the young. Marc Sagire makes a compelling case that every time any form of Marxism has been tried throughout history, it has resulted in economic calamity. Americans are flirting with disaster, and no one will pay the price more than affluent professionals. While among America's higher income earners, the affluent professional lacks the vast resources to defend themselves the way the mega rich can; but they are still well off enough to be a target in the event the American government takes a radical turn towards a Marxist economic system. There is a stark historical precedent for the affluent being persecuted by a Marxist regime. When the Bolsheviks seized power in Russia 100 years ago, an affluent class of peasants known as the Kulaks were specifically targeted for hostile mistreatment by the new Soviet government. It is entirely possible that the American affluent professional class could find themselves in a similar situation in the event America comes to be ruled by a neo-Marxist regime. It has happened before and can happen again. Marc Sagire walks the reader through all the potential avenues that such a regime could take were they afforded the opportunity. The book ends with a detailed discussion of the causes of the current ideological assent of socialism, and offers a series of utilitarian populist reforms that, while certainly not appetizing for the staunch free market advocate, would be preferable to the debasement of a Marxist regime. This book should be on the "must read" list for anyone concerned with preserving America's economic traditions and heritage, as they are very much at stake.

Book excerpt: With the 2020 Election Cycle resulting in Democrats controlling both houses of Congress and the White House, the American Domestic Agenda has never been closer to embracing a version of full fledged Marxism. America is traversing unknown economic and political waters, as federal policy openly embraces far left ideas once unthinkable. In the first edition to American Kulak, Marc Sagire warned readers that this day may well come. Indeed it has. The only question is the degree to which Congress and President Biden are able to implement the hard left socialist agenda, including the Green New Deal, Medicare for All and the quasi nationalization of unfavored industries such as the fossil fuel industry. The pressure on the Biden Administration to accommodate this agenda will be immense, as there is no guarantee Democrats will retain control of all three branches of the legislative and executive process. Read the Second Edition of American Kulak to find out what might be in store for middle and affluent Americans when these policies are enacted.

Book excerpt: In 1835, Alexis de Tocqueville predicted a "...species of oppression...[with] which democratic nations are menaced...unlike anything which ever before existed in the world..." It was a despotism that "...would be more extensive and...would degrade men without tormenting them." It would be a force that "...compresses, enervates, extinguishes, and stupefies a people, till each...is reduced to be nothing better than a flock of timid...animals, of which the government is the shepherd." Tocqueville was predicting socialism in America, a new form of oppression that did not exist in his time. He could not name it at the time because the word socialism had not yet appeared in the English language and Karl Marx had not yet published his Communist Manifesto. America has become a socialist state and this book is about what socialism is doing to America today. Socialism is an oppression that has caused America to discard the rule of law, forsake justice, limit freedom, attenuate individuality, create dependence, degrade social norms, attack sources of wealth, and divide the culture. This form of despotic totalitarianism has irreversibly commenced the destruction of American culture and nation. Socialism in America offers the reader the perspective of and how and why this is happening. It explains the history of socialism, and in particular the history of socialism in America. It discusses the roles of socialism's foremost vectors, which are primarily the unions and Democratic Party. It critically dissects the philosophy of socialism itself and examines other countries' struggles to survive under the heavy socialist boot. Every freedom-loving American should read this book.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In 1932 Zara Witkin, a prominent American engineer, set off for the Soviet Union with two goals: to help build a society more just and rational than the bankrupt capitalist system at home, and to seek out the beautiful film star Emma Tsesarskaia. His memoirs offer a detailed view of Stalin's bureaucracy—entrenched planners who snubbed new methods; construction bosses whose cover-ups led to terrible disasters; engineers who plagiarized Witkin's work; workers whose pride was defeated. Punctuating this document is the tale of Witkin's passion for Tsesarskaia and the record of his friendships with journalist Eugene Lyons, planner Ernst May, and others. Witkin felt beaten in the end by the lethargy and corruption choking the greatest social experiment in history, and by a pervasive evil—the suppression of human rights and dignity by a relentless dictatorship. Finally breaking his spirit was the dissolution of his romance with Emma, his "Dark Goddess." In his lively introduction, Michael Gelb provides the historical context of Witkin's experience, details of his personal life, and insights offered by Emma Tsesarskaia in an interview in 1989.
