Al mismo tiempo,se propone distinguir los elementos básicos mediante una exploración descriptiva exhaustiva que identifica patrones de movimientos y sistemas migratorios.Del mismo modo, en esta aportación se explora la hipótesis general acerca de la existencia y posible descripción de los sistemas formados por las migraciones de América Latina, y lo hace enfatizando dos elementos esenciales de su constitución: el análisis de los mecanismos que promueven los procesos migratorios y las estructuras generadas por la evolución de los procesos migratorios.Este trabajo analiza algunos mecanismos más específicos tales como la distribución y concentración geográfica de las migraciones latinoamericanas, su distribución por sexo, los patrones de migración por edad y sexo, el comportamiento general del conjunto de migraciones latinoamericanas, la importancia de las redes familiares en el desarrollo de nuevas migraciones de latinoamericanos a los Estados Unidos.Respecto de la estructura, se analiza el discurso presentado por varios autores, pero poco recogido y compilado sobre la existencia y desarrollo de una estructura sobrevenida de los procesos migratorios. De este modo, se presenta como el componente relacional es clave para establecer campos migratorios de la migración interna de Colombia y la posible extrapolación del método a las migraciones internacionales. Además, se presentan algunas advertencias cuando se analizan las migraciones usando la teoría de grafos y los modelos matemáticos planteados para ella.Para el desarrollo de las aportaciones empíricas, se utilizaron muchas técnicas demográficas y estadísticas para lograr una caracterización de lo que pueden ser los sistemas migratorios latinoamericanos entre ellas tasas,propensiones, razones de sexo, optimización de polinomios, modelos estadísticos, análisis de grafos, y otras más, que han permitido una identificación y descripción de los sistemas migratorios formados.Los resultados muestran la composición del sistema migratorio latinoamericano, su rol dentro en un sistema internacional y los mecanismos que se operan en él tales como la feminización, la concentración espacial, la selectividad por edad como estrategia migratoria, la red familiar y su nivel socioeconómico en la reducción de los tiempos de reunificación. Al mismo tiempo, se describen las estructuras en red que son particulares de la migración, y se muestra una característica particular como lo es la hiperconexión. Esta afecta los resultados de forma positiva, como en la conformación de grupos determinados por los movimientos, pero es limitada a la hora de verificar que variables influyen en la distribución de las migraciones en la red.
