Una nueva alternativa de establecimiento del arroz es la siembra en suelo sin lámina de agua, lo que indica la necesidad de nuevos sistemas de control de malezas. Debido a esto, se realizó un ensayo en la localidad de San Carlos (36° 18\U+2019\ 32\U+2019\\U+2019\ S; 71° 58\U+2019\ 26\U+2019\\U+2019\ O) temporada 2013-2014 con el objetivo de realizar una selección preliminar de herbicidas de pre y post emergencia sobre arroz en siembra directa. Para esto, se evaluaron los herbicidas clomazone y pendimetalin de pre emergencia temprana y los herbicidas penoxsulam, bispiribac, cyhalofop, bentazone, MCPA, picloram y triclopyr de post emergencia en arroz cultivar Diamante sembrado el 7 de octubre de 2013. El diseño correspondió a bloques completos al azar con 18 tratamientos y 4 repeticiones en parcelas de 6 m x 3 m. Se evaluó, población y materia seca de arroz a macolla y cosecha del cultivo y densidad de arroz a la macolla y cosecha del cultivo, evaluando además el rendimiento y componentes de rendimiento del arroz desde 2 m2 por parcela. Los resultados indican que los tratamientos que incluyeron penoxsulam fueron los más efectivos, en especial en aplicación secuencial de penoxsulam y cyhalofop en dosis de 40,8 y 270 g ha-1 con rendimiento de 6990 kg ha-1 de arroz.

Se utilizó un diseño experimental de bloques completos al azar y en parcelas de 10 m2 con cuatro repeticiones, usando una bomba accionada por CO2 con 200 L ha-1 de agua, se aplicó por ha: (1) Testigo sin control (TSC), (2) Espada 1 L, (3) Espada 2 L, (4) Espada 3 L, (5) Spectro 1 L, (6) Spectro 2 L, (7) Spectro 3 L, (8) Herbadox 1 L, (9) Herbadox 2 L, (10) Herbadox 3 L. Los resultados indicaron que la aplicación de herbicidas no afectó la emergencia y desarrollo de las plantas de arroz, a excepción del testigo sin control que presentó menor densidad de plantas respecto a los demás tratamientos. Los tratamientos con herbicidas obtuvieron rendimientos significativamente mayores que variaron entre 10,39 a 9,45 t ha-1, en comparación con el testigo sin control que obtuvo un rendimiento de 8,32 t ha-1. La maleza más numerosa fue EchinochloasppL. que disminuyó su densidad en los tratamientos con herbicida entre 8 y 17 plantas m-2, comparada con el testigo sin control que obtuvo 37 plantas m-2. La materia secade Echinochloaspp.fue significativamente mayor en el tratamiento sin control con 78,45 g m-2, respecto a los tratamientos con herbicidas que obtuvieronentre 0,6 y 13,4 g m-2.
