Alligators, like different crocodilians, are massive animals with effective tails that are used each in protection and in swimming. Their eyes, ears, and nostrils are positioned on pinnacle of their lengthy head and assignment barely above the water when the reptiles glide at the surface, as they frequently do. Alligators can be differentiated from real crocodiles with the aid of the structure of their jaw and teeth. Alligators possess a wide U-shaped snout and have an "overbite"; that is, all the tooth of the decrease jaw suit inside (are lingual to) the enamel of the higher jaw.
