Charles Spurgeon is a cornerstone of the Christian religion. A preacher and teacher, his sermons have spread all over the world and his many printed works have been treasured classic for decades. All of Grace is a simple and eloquent presentation of basic salvation through grace alone. Spurgeon wants readers only to consume his work and ponder it, he asks nothing in return because he believes in the power of God to bring unbelievers to Him. As one reviewer puts it well: "[Spurgeon] brings the gospel to his readers with pointed illustrations, well-placed anecdotes, irrefutable arguments, heart-felt pleas, and (above all else) the plainly-spoken and rightly-applied word of God." This short and easy read is both a perfect introduction to salvation and an assurance of it for unbelievers and the saved alike. In the last line, Spurgeon beseeches readers to accept salvation now and "Meet me in heaven." - Christian Classics Etherial Library

Charles Haddon Spurgeon (19 June 1834 - 31 January 1892) was a British Particular Baptist preacher who remains highly influential among Christians of different denominations, among whom he is still known as the "Prince of Preachers". Spurgeon was to 19th century England what D. L Moody was to America. Although Spurgeon never attended theological school, by the age of twenty-one he was the most popular preacher in London. A strong figure in the Reformed Baptist tradition, defending the Church in agreement with the 1689 London Baptist Confession of Faith understanding, and opposing the liberal and pragmatic theological tendencies in the Church of his day, Spurgeon preached to around 10,000,000 people, often up to 10 times each week at different places. Spurgeon was the pastor of the congregation of the New Park Street Chapel (later the Metropolitan Tabernacle) in London for 38 years, despite the fact he was part of several controversies with the Baptist Union of Great Britain and later had to leave the denomination. In 1857, he started a charity organization called Spurgeon's which now works globally, and he also founded Spurgeon's College, which was named after him posthumously. Spurgeon was a prolific author of many types of works, including sermons, an autobiography, commentaries, books on prayer, devotionals, magazines, poetry, hymns and more.

Book excerpt: Charles Haddon Spurgeon tops virtually every list of the most famous and influential preachers of the English-speaking world. More than a century after his death, thousands of his sermons remain in print and in demand. What can explain the power and substance of this ministry? While many point to his rhetorical power or infectious personality, the true power of Spurgeon's ministry was his unrelenting commitment to Scripture and to the Gospel. This revised and updated version of Spurgeon's devotional and evangelistic All of Grace will hopefully introduce thousands of new readers to Spurgeon and to the riches of his ministry. R. ALBERT MOHLER, JR. President of the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary In All of Grace, Charles Spurgeon uncovers the core of Christianity - the life-giving grace of God. I highly recommend this book to anyone searching for answers to life's puzzling problems." CHRISTIAN GEORGE Assistant Professor of Historical Theology Curator of the Spurgeon Library Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary It was the theologian Helmut Thielicke who once said, "Sell all that you have and buy Spurgeon"! And with good reason: God gifted Charles Haddon Spurgeon with a fabulous gift of communication--always crisp and clear, winsome and pungent, and biblical through and through. His book All of Grace is no exception: it is one of the best introductions to the nature of the foundation of the Christian life, and how God's unmerited love and grace lies at the foundation of all of the believer's life in Christ. Warmly recommended!" MICHAEL A.G. HAYKIN Professor of Church History & Biblical Spirituality The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, Louisville, Kentucky Spurgeon's All of Grace has been a Christian classic for decades. It has had a transforming impact on hundreds who have read it. Recently, one of the members of my Sunday school class who discovered it has read it at least a score of times. It has had a transforming effect on his understanding of God, has given him deeper gratitude for his salvation, and increased the purity and intensity of his worship. This faithful rendering of Spurgeon's passion and theology now given in updated language is a welcome addition to the growing interest in Spurgeon again. I recommend the book heartily and hope it has a pervasive impact. TOM NETTLES Professor of Church History The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, Louisville, Kentucky The noted German theologian, Helmut Thielicke, once said, "Sell all the books that you have and buy Spurgeon." I share the German theologian's estimation of Spurgeon, and that is why I heartily commend this work, All of Grace, by the Prince of Preachers himself. I am grateful to Patrick T. Dolan for keeping All of Grace in print. As you read through this great work, you will be grateful as well." JASON K. ALLEN President Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary Never does one go wrong in reading about the salvation God offers to sinners, and seldom does one go wrong in reading Charles Spurgeon. I have been a believer for more than four decades, and I confess that I sometimes take grace for granted. Reading this work again has reminded me that God's amazing grace must drive me to tell others about His deep love for sinners. CHUCK LAWLESS Professor of Evangelism & Missions, Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, Wake Forest, North Carolina

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: It is not enough to hear, learn or even sing about Grace. Knowing about grace without understanding the multi-faceted uniqueness of Grace will lead to spiritual frustration. The bible teaches us this truth encompassed in grace. [John 1:14-17 KJV] "And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, ) full of grace and truth. John bare witness of him, and cried, saying, This was he of whom I spake, He that cometh after me is preferred before me: for he was before me. And of his fullness have all we received, and grace for grace. For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ". Romans 9:10-16 teaches that this grace is free, by election, and calling and not by works. The Bible tells us that "it is not of him that runs nor of him that wills but it is the Lord that shows mercy and compassion". It is the Lord that determines who he will favor and show kindness to. Grace comes for grace. This grace is unmerited favor. God gives it to those He calls to compensate for their shortfalls and weaknesses. Romans 5:1-2, talks about having access to this grace by faith through Jesus Christ. You and I can access this grace by faith in Jesus Christ. We are called in the grace of Christ. Paul refers to the grace of Christ as the gospel of Christ. Acts 20:24 (ESV) 24 But I do not account my life of any value nor as precious to myself, if only I may finish my course and the ministry that I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God. The gospel and grace are used interchangeably in scripture. The gospel of Christ is the grace of God. And the gospel of grace is this: Jesus offered one sacrifice for sins forever; he died on the cross and took your sins past, present, and future. The gospel of grace is over the top good news that your sins have been done away with on the cross. Grace is God's unmerited, unearned, and undeserved favor. Sin had to be judged so Jesus went to the cross and took our place. The condemnation went on Him for our sins. Hebrews 10:10-14 (ESV) On the cross, Jesus offered for all time a single sacrifice for sins. His work on the cross was good for all time. That means your past, present, and future sins have already been forgiven. God judged Jesus for the sins of the whole world forever. Sin is no longer an issue. God is not judging the unbelievers for their sins. Sin has already been judged. People do not go to hell because of sin, but rather because of rejecting Jesus who is the solution to the sin problem. Even after you are saved, sin is no longer an issue. After we are born again, God does not judge the believer for his sins. God is not punishing you for your sins. He is not mad at you when you make a mistake. He already punished Jesus for all the sins that you will ever commit. They have already been judged. Beware of the devil who will try to condemn you because you did something wrong. He tries to bring people under condemnation because they make a mistake and tells them that God will not answer their prayers because they did not pray today, or because they have not been to church for two weeks, or they did not read their Bible all week. That is the law, and we are not under the law. That is performance-based living and God does not relate to us anymore based on our performance. He does not bless us or answer our prayers because of what we do, but because of what Jesus did for us on the cross. God loves you as much as He loves Jesus (John 17:23), and when He sees you, He sees His son Jesus. As Jesus is, so are we in this world (1 John 4:17). We are in Christ Jesus and God sees us in Him.

Book excerpt: Your Grace-Filled Guide to Relationships It's hard, sometimes, to get over that thing your husband said weeks ago; or to resolve that tension with your colleague at work; or to fix a lifelong friendship that's taken a bad turn. The biggest problem with relationships is they always seem to involve sinners--including ourselves. So how can we form strong, resilient bonds with people who, like us, are bound to mess up? Thankfully, it's not all on us. Through stories and biblical teaching, Jessica Thompson helps us move beyond trying to "fix" the people we interact with, and shows us a better way. Though our relationships may be marred by tension and frustration, because we are welcomed and known by Christ, they don't have to stay that way. "Nothing changes the way we relate to others more than knowing how God relates to us. Knowing how God loves us and forgives us and is gracious and merciful toward us and forbears with us inevitably affects the way we think about other people. My good friend Jessica Thompson has written a book that articulates who God is for us and then shows how that changes the way we are toward others. Thank you, Jessica, for reminding me that God always meets my mess with his mercy and my failure with his forgiveness. Knowing this makes me want to love God and others."--Tullian Tchividjian, founder of Liberate and author of One Way Love: Inexhaustible Grace for an Exhausted World "We need grace in all our relationships. So much loneliness, feeling betrayed, alienation, anger, vengeance, sadness, grief find their roots in relational conflict. Jessica humbly guides us to see that only by being a recipient of God's grace can we be agents of grace in our relationships. She does this with humor, honesty, and confession from her own experience, not with advice as a relational guru."--Justin S. Holcomb, Episcopal priest, seminary professor, and author of On the Grace of God "Everyday Grace is for all who have struggled to accept their children and honor their parents and initiate with their neighbors and forgive their spouses and respect their bosses and celebrate their rivals. But it is not filled with practical tips that would trivialize the difficulty of these things. Nor is it a book of relational psychology that would strategize a resolution to these things. Instead, it is filled with the Scriptures that speak to these things--helping us to rest in Christ's covering of all our relational failure and inviting us to change by the power of the Holy Spirit."--Nancy Guthrie, Bible teacher and author "Relational paradise was lost when our first parents fell into sin. Our desire for change in this area is anywhere between cautiously optimistic and downright cynical. What I enjoy about Everyday Grace is that Thompson simply cannot get over the one hope for true reconciliation: God, in Christ, has befriended us."--Gloria Furman, author of Glimpses of Grace and Treasuring Christ When Your Hands Are Full "Relationships are hard. We know this. Jessica Thompson knows this too and shares how she fights to take her gaze off herself and onto the only one who can help our broken relationships--Jesus. Her method doesn't come from a list of ways to implement change; rather, she focuses on the gospel that transforms hearts and minds. Be encouraged by the good news as you read Everyday Grace, for it is the gospel that is our only Hope for our relationship problem."--Trillia Newbell, author of Fear and Faith: Finding the Peace Your Heart Craves and United: Captured by God's Vision for Diversity

Book excerpt: The Gift for All People is a celebration of God's gift of salvation wrapped in a collection of inspirational stories. These stories will help Christians comprehend and treasure the assurance of their salvation and will help non-Christians realize and embrace the gift of abundant, eternal life in Jesus Christ. The concluding story, written especially for this book, urges readers to give their lives to Jesus Christ and shows them how to do so. This book will provide Christians with a unique, warm, and attractive presentation of the gospel to give to non-Christian family or friends. More than anything, God wants you to be with Him. The God who designed your world, the God who placed you on the planet, simply wants you home with Him. And to bring you home, He offers you a gift...the gift of eternal salvation. My prayer is that through the pages of this book you'll see his gift like you've never seen it. If you've already accepted it, you'll thank Him again. And if you've never accepted it, I pray that you will. For it's the gift of a lifetime. A gift for all people.
