Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: WERE HUMAN SACRIFICES DOWN THROUGH THE AGES MADE TO APPEASE AND "NOURISH" THE BLOODTHIRSTY GODS? On the night of March 5th, 1967, two workers in the local Red Cross Bloodmobile in Point Pleasant, West Virginia, were chased by something strange in the sky. Their van was loaded with flesh blood and, despite the fact that they were speeding to get to the hospital with their supply of human plasma, a UFO kept pace and lowered two claw-like projections on either side of their emergency vehicle as if to capture it in its prongs and lift the bloodmobile into the night sky. On Long Island, New York, a well-respected talk show host was taken to a large "meeting hall" which fronted for the secret headquarters of a strange group of alien "androids" who called themselves "The Council of Ten Men." "In the recesses of the building was a hidden laboratory in which what appeared to be several corpses were laid out on examination tables. Next to the 'corpses' were rows of test tubes and bottles filled with blood," the talk show host recounted. "Each bottle was labeled with names, such as 'CHARLES' and 'SUSAN.' The Ten handled some of the bottles and sampled their contents orally and without facial expressions." The whole scene sickened the witness, and she was greatly disturbed by the experience. Blood has always been part of the hidden agenda of the Ultra-Terrestrials, from the days of "ancient astronauts" - and their apparent demand for human sacrifices - to the animal mutilations of today. There are even entire villages in Brazil where most of the town's residents have been "attacked" and suffered large quantities of their blood being drained, leaving hideous scars on the victims' bodies. Veteran investigator Scott Corrales delves into the nightmarish mystery of alien blood lust, concentrating on incidents from Hispanic communities in Puerto Rico, Mexico and throughout South America. Input from other qualified researchers add evidence to a horrifying -- but all-too-true -- aspect of UFOlogy that never gets any attention! Chapters Include: --** Snack Time! Flesh and Blood May Be The Real God Of The Gods. --**The Bloodmobile Chase. --** Human Sacrifice: The Deadly Deed. --**Is Blood The True Nectar And Ambrosia Of The Gods? --** Was Dracula An Alien? --** Blood Is the Life For The Monsters That Seek It. --** Puerto Rico's Moca Vampire. --** Gargoyle Of The Outer Darkness --** Chupacabras Diary.

Book excerpt: THROUGHOUT HISTORY AND ACROSS CULTURES, the most common form of violence is that between family members and neighbors or kindred communities—in civil wars writ large and small. From assault to genocide, from assassination to massacre, violence usually emerges from inside the fold. You have more to fear from a spouse, an ex-spouse, or a coworker than you do from someone you don’t know. In this brilliant polemic, Russell Jacoby argues that violence erupts most often, and most savagely, between those of us most closely related. An Indian nationalist assassinated Mohandas Gandhi, “the father” of India. An Egyptian Muslim assassinated Anwar Sadat, the president of Egypt and a recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize. An Israeli Jew assassinated Yitzhak Rabin, the Israeli prime minister and similarly a recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize. Genocide most often involves kindred groups. The German Christians of the 1930s were so closely intertwined with German Jews that a yellow star was required to tell the groups apart. Serbs and Muslims in Bosnia, like the Hutu and Tutsi in Rwanda, are often indistinguishable even to one another. This idea contradicts both common sense and the collective wisdom of teachers and preachers, who declaim that we fear—and sometimes should fear—the “other,” the dangerous stranger. Citizens and scholars alike believe that enemies lurk in the street and beyond, where we confront a “clash of civilizations” with foreigners who challenge our way of life. Jacoby offers a more unsettling truth: it is not so much the unknown that threatens us, but the known. We attack our brothers—our kin, our acquaintances, our neighbors—with far greater regularity and venom than we attack outsiders. Weaving together the biblical story of Cain and Abel, Freud’s “narcissism of minor differences,” insights on anti-Semitism and misogyny, as well as fresh analysesof “civil” bloodbaths from the St. Bartholomew’s Day Massacre in the sixteenth century to genocide and terrorism in our own time, Jacoby turns history inside out to offer a provocative new understanding of violentconfrontation over the centuries. “In thinking about the bad, we reach for the good,” he says in his Introduction. This passionate, counterintuitive account affords us an unprecedented insight into the roots of violence.

Earth may be regarded, by races billions of years old and billions of years old, as either an oddity, a zoo, or something of an amusement. The universe is a wild place, we're part of it, but what is our true value to visitors from out there? To understand how Aliens sees us, we first have to understand our own history of exploration, contact and diplomacy, like when the Old World powers met the New World tribes. Earth history is littered with cruel jokes on unwitting peoples, where the collision of East meets West ended with one party screwed over, or just wiped out of existence. Why should Earth's destiny among other races of the universe be any different? Fortunately history can advise us on the implications of mixing with advanced alien cultures, yet technology shifts the means by which alien contact and diplomacy will integrate with our digital world. The responsibility for contact has moved from military elites and those in the know, to the wider, connected public. We have to be prepared to face our past in order to face the future: Soon, now, or a day in the far future, we will make real alien contact and our diplomacy will either have us subjugated and naively enslaved, or equipped with knowledge and technology that enables us to explore the stars.

And what he discovers is a shocking supernatural mystery beyond imagination. Victims, drained of blood, and a series of kidnappings that fit a very select profile… The targets all possess some degree of psychic power. After one of Mortlake’s closest friends goes missing, the case becomes even more personal. The trail of clues leads from the city streets to the dank sewers deep below. And Mortlake must come face-to-face with his deadliest adversary… a man he thought had already died. But this villain is aided by a powerful entity from Mortlake’s past. Something that knows exactly how to hurt him the most… Will Mortlake survive? Or will his past plague the present?

Discover how one non-believing man’s decision changes not only his world, but the fate of our entire planet, forever…

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The outpouring of Native American literature that followed the publication of N. Scott Momaday’s Pulitzer Prize–winning House Made of Dawn in 1968 continues unabated. Fiction and poetry, autobiography and discursive writing from such writers as James Welch, Gerald Vizenor, and Leslie Marmon Silko constitute what critic Kenneth Lincoln in 1983 termed the Native American Renaissance. This collection of essays takes the measure of that efflorescence. The contributors scrutinize writers from Momaday to Sherman Alexie, analyzing works by Native women, First Nations Canadian writers, postmodernists, and such theorists as Robert Warrior, Jace Weaver, and Craig Womack. Weaver’s own examination of the development of Native literary criticism since 1968 focuses on Native American literary nationalism. Alan R. Velie turns to the achievement of Momaday to examine the ways Native novelists have influenced one another. Post-renaissance and postmodern writers are discussed in company with newer writers such as Gordon Henry, Jr., and D. L. Birchfield. Critical essays discuss the poetry of Simon Ortiz, Kimberly Blaeser, Diane Glancy, Luci Tapahonso, and Ray A. Young Bear, as well as the life writings of Janet Campbell Hale, Carter Revard, and Jim Barnes. An essay on Native drama examines the work of Hanay Geiogamah, the Native American Theater Ensemble, and Spider Woman Theatre. In the volume’s concluding essay, Kenneth Lincoln reflects on the history of the Native American Renaissance up to and beyond his seminal work, and discusses Native literature’s legacy and future. The essays collected here underscore the vitality of Native American literature and the need for debate on theory and ideology.

From Bram Stoker's 1897 creation of Count Dracula, portrayed as a foreign invader bent on the conquest of England, the literary vampire has symbolized the Other, whether his or her otherness arises from racial, ethnic, sexual, or species difference. Even before the bloodsucking Martians of H. G. Wells' War of the Worlds, however, popular fiction contained a few vampires who were members of alien species rather than supernatural undead. Even more intriguing than interplanetary invaders are humanoid and quasi-humanoid beings who have evolved to live on Earth among us, often camouflaged as our own kind. The boom in vampire fiction that began in the 1970s engendered a variety of "alien" vampires, many of them portrayed as sympathetic characters. The science fiction vampire is especially suited to the presentation of vampirism as morally neutral rather than inherently evil. Different Blood surveys the literary vampire as alien, whether extra-terrestrial or a different species evolved on Earth, from the mid-1800s to the 1990s, and analyzes the many uses to which science fiction and fantasy authors have put this theme. Their works explore issues of species, race, ecological responsibility, gender, eroticism, xenophobia, parasitism, symbiosis, intimacy, and the bridging of differences. An extensive bibliography lists dozens of novels and short stories on the "vampire as alien" theme, many of which are still in print.
