Book Synopsis Ground Vibration and Flight Flutter Tests of the Single-Seat F-16xl Aircraft with a Modified Wing by : National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA)
Download or read book Ground Vibration and Flight Flutter Tests of the Single-Seat F-16xl Aircraft with a Modified Wing written by National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) and published by Createspace Independent Publishing Platform. This book was released on 2018-07-08 with total page 64 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The NASA single-seat F-16XL aircraft was modified by the addition of a glove to the left wing. Vibration tests were conducted on the ground to assess the changes to the aircraft caused by the glove. Flight Luther testing was conducted on the aircraft with the glove installed to ensure that the flight envelope was free of aeroelastic or aeroservoelastic instabilities. The ground vibration tests showed that above 20 Hz, several modes that involved the control surfaces were significantly changed. Flight test data showed that modal damping levels and trends were satisfactory where obtainable. The data presented in this report include estimated modal parameters from the ground vibration and flight flutter test. Voracek, David F. Armstrong Flight Research Center...

Download or read book Ground and Flight Testing for Aircraft Guidance and Control written by Reiner Onken and published by . This book was released on 1984 with total page 208 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The objective of this AGARDograph, assembled by the Guidance and Control Panel of AGARD, is to bring together the benefits in use of major test facilities and techniques in evaluating aircraft guidance and control functions, components and systems. The emphasis will be on specific examples of user oriented test programs rather than descriptions of the facilities. The AGARDograph is organized into five parts. Part I deals with control handling and active control testing; Part II covers tests on flight path control; Part III focusses on navigation system testing; Part IV embarks on combat guidance and control evaluation and Part V gives some insight in testing of flight-crucial digital systems in guidance and control. Additional keywords: NATO furnished; fuel conservation; ground testing; wind tunnel tests; helicopter warfare; avionics; dead reckoning; air to air; aerial warfare; fighter aircraft.

Book Synopsis Aircraft Ground Vibration Test Instrumentation System by :
Download or read book Aircraft Ground Vibration Test Instrumentation System written by and published by . This book was released on 1983 with total page 28 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Structural Vibration Branch (FIBG) of the Air Force Wright Aeronautical Laboratories is conducting an in-house Ground Vibration Test (GVT) on a full scale F-16 aircraft located inside FIBG's Vibration Aeroelastic facility at Wright-Patterson AFB OH. To measure 120 accelerometer signals simultaneously as required by the GVT, FIBG has designed and fabricated in-house a complete data acquisition system to measure and condition all the required transducer signals. This paper describes the design, configuration, evaluation and calibration of the GVT instrumentation system.
