Book excerpt: D'un point de vue general, les travaux de recherche de ce livre s'inscrivent dans le cadre de la segmentation des images couleurs par fusion des donnees. Dans ce travail, nous presentons une architecture de fusion d'images basee sur la theorie des croyances de Dempster-Shafer, utilisee pour la segmentation des images couleurs. Nous focalisons notre etude sur les methodes de fusion des informations au niveau des pixels. Nous presentons, une approche pour la modelisation des informations, basee sur la distribution gaussienne. Cette derniere, permet de generer, a partir de trois primitives couleurs, une seule image finale segmentee. La methode de fusion consiste a fusionner les resultats issus d'une premiere segmentation des images originales parfaitement recalees geometriquement. Dans cette methode de fusion, l'etape de modelisation est realisee a base des techniques d'analyse de l'histogramme et la distribution gaussienne. Les etudes comparatives avec plusieurs techniques existantes, appliquees a la segmentation des images couleurs, montrent la souplesse et la robustesse de la modelisation basee sur le seuillage de l'histogramme d'homogeneite et la distribution gaussienne.

He declaimed and then distributed a witty tour de force in his own defense before the proconsul and a court of magistrates convened in Sabratha, near ancient Tripoli, Libya. This is known as the Apologia.His most famous work is his bawdy picaresque novel, the Metamorphoses, otherwise known as The Golden Ass. It is the only Latin novel that has survived in its entirety. It relates the ludicrous adventures of one Lucius, who experiments with magic and is accidentally turned into a donkey.

These images, which fall into two often overlapping categories (talismans and apotropaia), were erected according to special rituals and took on a variety of intriguing forms, including lions, locusts, and bound effigies of destructive deities like Ares. Looking closely at a wide variety of Greek texts and artifacts, Faraone provides a detailed description and survey of these images and then uses this information to provide new interpretations of early Greek myths about Pandora, the Trojan Horse, and the "living statues" created by Hephaestus.
