Con estas prácticas se hace énfasis en no dejar perder estas costumbres en la agricultura, pues la agroecología que proponemos rescatar es el principal camino hacia una agricultura y sociedad sustentables, es el espíritu de la sustentabilidad al que aspiramos todos. En el capítulo 3, "Diseños agroecológicos para promover el control biológico y la reconstrucción de trama tróficas", se explican técnicas de manejo del hábitat para promover la biodiversidad. En el capítulo 4, "Manejo Ecológico del suelo", se auxilia en el manejo ecológico del suelo como base de la fertilidad, salud y estabilidad del agroecosistema. Applying socio-metabolic approaches to local food systems fosters a better understanding of promises and pitfalls for sustainable pathways in the future.
