There is definitely a problem, and the same strategies and efforts of the last 60 years can not take us very far on this road. African Social Charter is addressing Sub Saharan Africa's Human Development through a significant revitalisation of its culture and social philosophy. It is a transformational policy and strategy guide for African governments, individual Africans, African communities and other actors impacting African development. It sees culture as the main engine of human development and takes a much broader view of development than The United Nations and its SDGs, putting on the table some of the finer, and even contraversial, issues that are never addressed by governments and international organisations. The book is however Afrocentric, being grounded in Africa's own cultural heritage so that the proposed culture and social philosophy are not totally new but are significant improvements of existing African reality. The Social Charter addresses the much troubled African human development from its roots, not from the branches.
