Book Synopsis Advances in Liquid Chromatography by : Toshihiko Hanai
Download or read book Advances in Liquid Chromatography written by Toshihiko Hanai and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 1996 with total page 366 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is a contemporary review of selected subjects in liquid chromatography, especially of the technical development, rather than the applications. The subjects are focused in the biomedical and environmental fields. This is also a troubleshooting record. Complex analytical problems such as sensitivity (sensitive detection by chemiluminescence, coulometric detection, laser based detection, necessity of degassing the system for sensitive detection), difficulty (free radical detection by Electron Spin Resonance, Polarimeter for chiral recognition) and reproducibility (packings for chiral separation and stable bonded silica gels) are solved. Theoretically and environmentally important miniaturizations are described. Individual chapters written by specialists provide information beyond what can be found in general textbooks of liquid chromatography.

This book was released on 2024-01-24 with total page 102 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Electrophoresis is a classic molecular biology technique. The basic idea is to separate molecules based on their sizes and charges. Coupled with other technologies, electrophoresis is applied in various research fields to suit different purposes. This book describes and discusses the applications of electrophoresis in various research fields, including single-cell technology, veterinary diagnosis, dental research, biodiversity study, and soil research.
Book Synopsis Biomedical Photonics Handbook by : Tuan Vo-Dinh
Download or read book Biomedical Photonics Handbook written by Tuan Vo-Dinh and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2003-03-26 with total page 1928 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A wide variety of biomedical photonic technologies have been developed recently for clinical monitoring of early disease states; molecular diagnostics and imaging of physiological parameters; molecular and genetic biomarkers; and detection of the presence of pathological organisms or biochemical species of clinical importance. However, available information on this rapidly growing field is fragmented among a variety of journals and specialized books. Now researchers and medical practitioners have an authoritative and comprehensive source for the latest research and applications in biomedical photonics. Over 150 leading scientists, engineers, and physicians discuss state-of-the-art instrumentation, methods, and protocols in the Biomedical Photonics Handbook. Editor-in-Chief Tuan Vo-Dinh and an advisory board of distinguished scientists and medical experts ensure that each of the 65 chapters represents the latest and most accurate information currently available.
Book Synopsis Advances in Flow Injection Analysis and Related Techniques by :
Download or read book Advances in Flow Injection Analysis and Related Techniques written by and published by Newnes. This book was released on 2008-11-21 with total page 813 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The concept of flow injection analysis (FIA) was first proposed in 1975 by Ruzicka and Hansen, and this initiated a field of research that would, over more than three decades, involve thousands of researchers, and which has to date resulted in close to 20,000 publications in the international scientific literature. Since its introduction, a number of books, including some specialized monographs, have been published on this subject with the latest in 2000. However, in this decade there has been a number of significant advances in the flow analysis area, and in particular in sequential injection analysis (SIA) techniques, and more recently with the introduction of Lab on a Valve (LOV) and bead injection flow systems. This book aims to cover the most important advances in these new areas, as well as in classical FIA, which still remains the most popular flow analysis technique used in analytical practice. Topics covered in the 23 chapters include the fundamental and underlying principles of flow analysis and associated equipment, the fluid-dynamic theory of FIA, an extensive coverage of detection methods (e.g. atomic and molecular spectrometry, electroanalytical methods). In addition, there are several chapters on on-line separation (e.g. filtration, gas diffusion, dialysis, pervaporation, solvent and membrane extraction, and chromatography), as well as on other sample pretreatment techniques, such as digestion. The book also incorporates several chapters on major areas of application of flow analysis in industrial process monitoring (e.g food and beverages, drugs and pharmaceuticals), environmental and agricultural analysis and life sciences. The contributing authors, who include the founders of flow injection analysis, are all leading experts in flow analytical techniques, and their chapters not only provide a critical review of the current state of this area, but also suggest future trends. - Provides a critical review of the current state of and future trends in flow analytical techniques - Offers a comprehensive elucidation of the principles and theoretical basis of flow analysis - Presents important applications in all major areas of chemical analysis, from food products to environmental concerns
