In addition to these more highly improved roads, there were also reported miles of road which had been put in order by the use of the road machines, drags, etc. Omitting the miles Of roads which have been only partially improved, we still have a total of miles Of road surfaced with Stone, shells, gravel, chert, and sand - clay mixture, which constitute about five per l cent.
