In this research manuscript, an assignment problem in neutrosophic environment, called as neutrosophic assignment problem (NAP), is introduced. The problem is proposed by using the interval-valued trapezoidal neutrosophic numbers in the elements of cost matrix. As per the concept of score function, the interval-valued trapezoidal neutrosophic assignment problem (IVTNAP) is transformed to the corresponding an interval-valued AP. To optimize the objective function in interval form, we use the order relations. These relations are the representations of choices of decision maker. The maximization (or minimization) model with objective function in interval form is changed to multi- objective based on order relations introduced by the decision makers' preference in case of interval profits (or costs). In the last, we solve a numerical example to support the proposed solution methodology.

Book excerpt: Real-life decision-making problem has been demonstrated to cover the indeterminacy through single valued neutrosophic set. It is the extension of interval valued neutrosophic set. Most of the problems of real life involve some sort of uncertainty in it among which, one of the famous problem is finding a shortest path of the network. In this paper, a new score function is proposed for interval valued neutrosophic numbers and SPP is solved using interval valued neutrosophic numbers. Additionally, novel algorithms are proposed to find the neutrosophic shortest path by considering interval valued neutrosophic number, trapezoidal and triangular interval valued neutrosophic numbers for the length of the path in a network with illustrative example. Further, comparative analysis has been done for the proposed algorithm with the existing method with the shortcoming and advantage of the proposed method and it shows the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.

Book excerpt: We have exhibited a novel method for finding the neutrosophic shortest path problem (NSSPP) considering Gaussian valued Neutrosophic number. We have used linear programming approach for finding the NSS- PP for Gaussian valued Neutrosophic number which is as per best of our information, hasn’t been used till date for any other research work. In this article, we have introduced a novel method which deals Gaussian shaped neutrosophic problem easily without using any ranking method. We have used this method to solve uncertain network problems to find the shortest path which can help in taking crucial uncertain decisions. Finally, some numerical considerations are provided to show the effectiveness of the proposed model.

Book excerpt: This paper discusses the trapezoidal fuzzy number(TrFN); Interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy number(IVIFN); neutrosophic set and its operational laws; and, trapezoidal neutrosophic set(TrNS) and its operational laws. Based on the combination of IVIFN and TrNS, an Interval Valued Trapezoidal Neutrosophic Set (IVTrNS) is proposed followed by its operational laws. The paper also presents the score and accuracy functions for the proposed Interval Valued Trapezoidal Neutrosophic Number (IVTrNN). Then, an interval valued trapezoidal neutrosophic weighted arithmetic averaging (IVTrNWAA) operator is introduced to combine the trapezoidal information which is neutrosophic and in the unit interval of real numbers. Finally, a method is developed to handle the problems in the multi attribute decision making(MADM) environment using IVTrNWAA operator followed by a numerical example of NFRs prioritization to illustrate the relevance of the developed method.

Book excerpt: Neutrosophic sets are considered as a generalization of the crisp set, fuzzy set, and intuitionistic fuzzy set for representing the uncertainty, inconsistency, and incomplete knowledge about the real world problems. This paper aims to characterize the solution of complex programming (CP) problem with imprecise data instead of its prices information. The neutrosophic complex programming (NCP) problem is considered by incorporating single valued trapezoidal neutrosophic numbers in all the parameters of objective function and constraints. The score function corresponding to the neutrosophic number is used to transform the problem into the corresponding crisp CP. Here, lexicographic order is applied for the comparison between any two complex numbers. The comparison is developed between the real and imaginary parts separately. Through this manner, the CP problem is divided into two real sub-problems. In the last, a numerical example is solved for the illustration that shows the applicability of the proposed approach. The advantage of this approach is more flexible and makes a real-world situation more realistic.

Book excerpt: In this thesis, interval type-2 fuzzy sets (IT2FSs) and interval neutrosophic sets (INSs) have been considered for all the proposed concepts. Fusion of information is an essential task to get the optimized solution for any real world problem. In this task, aggregation operators are playing an important role in all the fields. Since most of the realistic problems have uncertainty in nature, one can use the logic of fuzzy and neutrosophic theory. For the entire proposed concepts interval based logic has been used as it handles more uncertainty.

Book excerpt: This book introduces readers to the novel concept of spherical fuzzy sets, showing how these sets can be applied in practice to solve various decision-making problems. It also demonstrates that these sets provide a larger preference volume in 3D space for decision-makers. Written by authoritative researchers, the various chapters cover a large amount of theoretical and practical information, allowing readers to gain an extensive understanding of both the fundamentals and applications of spherical fuzzy sets in intelligent decision-making and mathematical programming.

Book excerpt: The analytic hierarchy process (AHP) is recognised as one of the most commonly applied methods in the multiple attribute decision-making (MADM) literature. In the AHP, encompassing uncertainty feature necessitates using suitable uncertainty theories, since dealing efficiently with uncertainty in subjective judgements is of great importance in real-world decision-making problems. The neutrosophic set (NS) theory and grey systems are two reliable uncertainty theories which can bring considerable benefits to uncertain decision-making. Thea im of this study is to improve uncertain decision-making by incorporating advantages of the NS and grey systems theories with the AHP in investigating sustainability through agility readiness evaluation in large manufacturing plants.

This book was released on with total page 41 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The best-worst method (BWM) is a multiple criteria decision-making (MCDM) method for evaluating a set of alternatives based on a set of decision criteria where two vectors of pairwise comparisons are used to calculate the importance weight of decision criteria. The BWM is an efficient and mathematically sound method used to solve a wide range of MCDM problems by reducing the number of pairwise comparisons and identifying the inconsistencies derived from the comparison process. In spite of its simplicity and efficiency, the BWM does not consider the decision-makers’ (DMs’) confidence about their pairwise comparisons. We propose a neutrosophic enhancement to the original BWM by introducing two new parameters as the DMs’ confidence in the best-to-others preferences and the DMs’ confidence in the others-to-worst preferences. We present two real-world cases to illustrate the applicability of the proposed neutrosophic enhanced BWM (NE-BWM) by considering confidence rating levels of the DMs.
