Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Homeopathy or homoeopathy is a pseudoscientific system of alternative medicine. It was created by Samuel Hahnemann. Its practitioners, called homeopaths, believe that a substance that causes symptoms of a disease in healthy people would cure similar symptoms in sick people; this doctrine is called "similia similibus curentur," or "like cures like". The term "homeopathy" was coined by Hahnemann which comes from the Greek: hómoios, "like" and páthos, "suffering". Hahnemann gathered and published a complete overview of his new medical system in his book, The Organon of the Healing Art, whose 6th edition, known as Organon of Medicine, is still relevant today. Homeopathic healing is considered controversial and it received a lot of critique over the years, but it still survived and is practiced today._x000D_ Table of Contents:_x000D_ Organon of Medicine by Samuel Hahnemann_x000D_ Of the Homoeopathic Doctrines by J. Book Synopsis Organon of Homoeopathic Medicine by : Samuel Hahnemann
Download or read book Organon of Homoeopathic Medicine written by Samuel Hahnemann and published by . This book was released on 2018-12-18 with total page 166 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Samuel Hahnemann was a German physician who created and introduced homeopathy, a system of alternative medicine which claims that a substance which causes diseases in some individuals can cure it in others. Writing in the early 19th century, Hahnemann set out the principles of homoeopathic medicine in a total of 297 aphorisms. Each of these discussed the various attributes of healing that underpin homeopathy as a method of curing. The notion of 'miasms' as the origin and cause of all chronic disease, and how such can be alleviated, is elaborated upon by the author. Today, homeopathy has been widely discredited, with its methodology and teachings contrasted with established discoveries in biology and chemistry. Numerous studies of homeopathy's efficacy have shown that the results of treatment are no better than placebo. In the 19th century however, its use was popular with Hahnemann himself contrasting his methods by terming conventional medicine 'allopathic'. This edition combines side-by-side two editions of the Organon; the fifth, translated in late 19th century by R. E. Dudgeon, and the sixth, translated in 1922 by William Boericke. Both translators were practising homeopaths who added their own discoveries and annotations to Hahnemann's principle text.

Book Synopsis Integrative Cardiology by : Massimo Fioranelli
Download or read book Integrative Cardiology written by Massimo Fioranelli and published by Springer. This book was released on 2017-02-10 with total page 276 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is a detailed guide to a new integrative approach to the prevention and treatment of various cardiac disorders and risk factors, including coronary artery disease, congestive heart failure, arrhythmias, dyslipidemia, and hypertension. This approach combines various strategies, including metabolic cardiology, low-dose medicine, exercise programs, stress management programs, evaluation for inherited risk factors, and various other healing modalities. Metabolic cardiology focuses on the prevention, management, and treatment of cardiovascular disease at the cellular level through biochemical interventions with nutritional supplements that can promote energy production in the heart. Low-dose medicine, on the other hand, interprets pathological phenomena as an imbalance in intercellular signaling that may be corrected through the administration of low physiological doses of messenger molecules. Therapies outside of mainstream medicine may also be deployed in integrative cardiology, for example acupuncture, herbal medicine, and homeopathy. Integrative Cardiology will be of interest to all practitioners wishing to learn about an approach that incorporates the incredible advances in medication and technology with a focus on nutrition, lifestyle, and mind–body influences.
