The following letters, found among the papers of Mr. Lawrence after his death, and now among the manu scripts of the Boston Public Library, are connected with its history, and have a local interest. They tell their own story, and need no further introduction from me. The first letter is in Mr. Butler's handwriting, and, from the style, evidently his composition.
