Book Synopsis A BOY ON THE SHELF by : Andrew Gallardo
Download or read book A BOY ON THE SHELF written by Andrew Gallardo and published by Writers Republic LLC. This book was released on 2023-05-11 with total page 138 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The doctor asked, “Who is Andrew?” I said, “A boy that is tired of staying broken and feeling unloved for who he is.” Why do I go by the name Andrew? Because there was this boy in my first-grade class that I have always seen myself being if I were able to have expressed who I am without humiliation. Everything that he did was something I always admired and was inspired to someday become. I tried my best not to let people define me but rather let myself echo the truest parts of me out for the world to see. I’m the hero of my own story, and I welcome you to my journey—where I have faced many storms along with burning bridges. All the curveballs life has thrown at me had me evaluate my choices. It made me want to show people not to judge a book by its cover. I’ve learned a great deal of patience, but the best thing I’ve learned thus far is to simply keep living and always forgive yourself and understand that you did your very best for what you knew at the time.

Download or read book Shelf Life written by Simon Parke and published by Random House. This book was released on 2009-09-15 with total page 203 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The day I was appointed Chair of the shop union was the same day the Pope was elected. There the similarities end, however. For while his elevation took place beneath the fine art of the Sistine Chapel, with the mysterious white smoke rising, mine took place in the cold store, with nothing more mysterious than the bacon delivery and yesterday's waste... A vicar for twenty years, Simon Parke trades in his dog collar for a job on the tills in his local supermarket. Among the vegetable aisles and dairy produce he unpacks the meaning of life with his fellow workers, a colourful bunch. Sonny the security guard hates conflict; shelf-filler Winston knows he is destined for something better; and voluptuous Faith is generous with her wares - but sadly not with Simon. You don't have to be off your trolley to work there, but it helps... From checkout charlies to banana rage, from short-changed lows to cold store highs, Shelf Life is a pick-n-mix of wit and wisdom for anyone who loves life and hopes for more - no matter where they find themselves.
