At that time he had no idea of its publication, and it was only at the urgent request of many of his friends that he was finally induced to give his consent. In Part II, where there is more than one Botanical Name for the same Local Name, the correct one is italicised to distinguish it from the others. The compilation has been prepared upon strictly Botanical Rules, and as far as the Author can ascertain from those who have critically examined the work, and who are.
