Book excerpt: Americans have become blinded by fear and our government seems incapable of a vision beyond 90 days. Can't you see? We have failed to counter the rise of powerful foreign economies. Lacking concern for America's future and middle class, the wealthy have piled up excessive personal wealth, causing a shrinking middle class. Lawmakers overregulated our country with uniformity that stole America's unique spirit of adventure, individual freedom and personal responsibility. In politics, polarization is king. Professional demagogues succeeded in stirring up more hate for the opposite side of the political aisle than for America's real enemies. Compromise used to be smart business; now it is considered a weakness or act of betrayal. Stubborn ideology, once an impractical trait is now a virtue of strong character. Many countries (and fascist groups) use our weaknesses to their advantage. We've got it all wrong. Americans need to work together if we hope to induce positive change both here and abroad. Most Americans sense signs of decay but can't put the finger on the causes, let alone solutions. It is not easy to see the forest for the trees. This book makes that job easier.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The notion of common sense and abiding by its implications is something that, seemingly, everyone agrees is a good way of making behavioral decisions and conducting one's daily activities. This holds true whether one is a liberal, moderate, or conservative; young or old; and regardless of one's race and ethnicity, gender, or sexual orientation. If utilizing common sense is such a good idea, why then, do so many people seem to violate it? This is just one of many significant questions surrounding the idea of common sense explored and discussed in this book. This volume presents common sense as a ‘paradigm of thought’ and as such, compares it to other major categories of thought — tradition, faith, enlightened and rational. Combining a balance of practical, everyday approaches (through the use of popular culture references and featured boxes) and academic analysis of core and conceptual methodological issues, Delaney demonstrates: The limitations of common sense and its place in everyday social interactions How we learn about common sense Why common sense is so important Common Sense as a Paradigm of Thought introduces readers to a rich variety of sociological authors and will appeal to students and researchers interested in fields such as: sociology, philosophy, social psychology, cultural studies, communications and health studies.

Book excerpt: All of our country's problems, financial and otherwise spawn from the unconstitutional, privately owned, for profit, Federal Reserve Bank. The only answer to all of our country's problems is to abolish this treasonous entity. There is absolutely nothing else that will fix our country's economy because "our" economy is not broken. The present economy was created in 1913 to transfer the wealth of the people of the United States of America to the bankers who own the Federal Reserve and then collapse; leaving behind a wasteland of easily manageable serfs. This is what it was created to do and this is exactly what it is doing. Our only hope is to scrap the Federal Reserve System and implement an American Money System.

Book excerpt: Unyielding tackles a recurring topic of national importance as a history lesson for future generations. Controversial illegal medical mandates impacted military populations for many decades, but it was not until the COVID-era that the American people witnessed similar overreach. Colonel Tom “Buzz” Rempfer’s memoir retraces the anthrax vaccine history since it marked the first time the military was served with court rulings condemning premeditated illegal experimentation on our nation’s troops. The advent of COVID mandates, imposed on the population in 2021, gave the American people a taste of the mistreatment previously reserved for our nation’s warriors. Legal protections enacted by the Congress to guard against medical experimentation, meant to ensure safe, effective, and FDA-approved products, were instead adulterated to foist mandates on American society. According to the FBI, the motive for the anthrax letter lab leaks in 2001 was to “rejuvenate” the “failing” anthrax vaccine. Similarly, the suspected Wuhan lab leak two decades later resulted in a push for COVID injections. The pattern of fear-based bioincidents resulting from reckless biodefense enterprises, and lessons not learned with illegal mandates, paralyzed government and military leaders while wreaking havoc on the trust and health of our troops and the American people. Buzz’s decades-long analysis of the breakdowns stands as a unique treatise on the failures of leaders to learn lessons from these enduring clashes and to correct the damage. Future generations will sort out the aftermath, but in the meantime, Colonel Rempfer’s Unyielding effort attempts to ensure that the lessons are not lost.

Book excerpt: Captain Enrique (Henry) Horta was born the third child of the Horta Family in Ventura California. He lived in various places such as, Los Angeles, San Diego, Mexico, Germany, Mauritius, New Zealand, Japan and Jordan. While spending some of his teen years in Mexico he learned about survival and the importance of appreciating and doing the best of what resources he had. When he returned to California he was a skinny kid with dreams and plans to be a Pilot, traveler and adventurer. His wild dreams of becoming an Astronaut and going to the moon where replaced by more realistic dreams such as wanting to become an Airline Pilot. When he turned 18 years old he parted from his parents and had to join the working rat race starting out as a bag-boy at a local Safeway store. His plans to finish College were halted by his traveling bug so he took a break from school, sold his motorcycle, and went back-packing to Europe with only $1,000 Dollars in his pocket, a Euro-Pass train Ticket for a month, and a return airplane ticket home. Unexpected fatherhood in Germany at a young age made him become more responsible and serious about his dreams. When he returned to California he was now a young family man while working as a carpenter in construction and attending evening University and Flight School on weekends. His positive thinking methods, scholarships, grants, and student loans paid off and he graduated with an Airway Science Degree in addition to all his Pilot ratings and Certificates. Thereafter, his life became more of an adventure and he travelled around the world working for various Airlines as a Contract Pilot.
