Download or read book Resistive Switching: Oxide Materials, Mechanisms, Devices and Operations written by Jennifer Rupp and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2021-10-15 with total page 386 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book provides a broad examination of redox-based resistive switching memories (ReRAM), a promising technology for novel types of nanoelectronic devices, according to the International Technology Roadmap for Semiconductors, and the materials and physical processes used in these ionic transport-based switching devices. It covers defect kinetic models for switching, ReRAM deposition/fabrication methods, tuning thin film microstructures, and material/device characterization and modeling. A slate of world-renowned authors address the influence of type of ionic carriers, their mobility, the role of the local and chemical composition and environment, and facilitate readers’ understanding of the effects of composition and structure at different length scales (e.g., crystalline vs amorphous phases, impact of extended defects such as dislocations and grain boundaries). ReRAMs show outstanding potential for scaling down to the atomic level, fast operation in the nanosecond range, low power consumption, and non-volatile storage. The book is ideal for materials scientists and engineers concerned with novel types of nanoelectronic devices such as memories, memristors, and switches for logic and neuromorphic computing circuits beyond the von Neumann concept.

Book Synopsis Compact Size Wireless Power Transfer Using Defected Ground Structures by : Sherif Hekal
Download or read book Compact Size Wireless Power Transfer Using Defected Ground Structures written by Sherif Hekal and published by Springer. This book was released on 2019-05-29 with total page 91 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book addresses the design challenges in near-field wireless power transfer (WPT) systems, such as high efficiency, compact size, and long transmission range. It presents new low-profile designs for the TX/RX structures using different shapes of defected ground structures (DGS) like (H, semi-H, and spiral-strips DGS). Most near-field WPT systems depend on magnetic resonant coupling (MRC) using 3-D wire loops or helical antennas, which are often bulky. This, in turn, poses technical difficulties in their application in small electronic devices and biomedical implants. To obtain compact structures, printed spiral coils (PSCs) have recently emerged as a candidate for low-profile WPT systems. However, most of the MRC WPT systems that use PSCs have limitations in the maximum achievable efficiency due to the feeding method. Inductive feeding constrains the geometric dimensions of the main transmitting (TX)/receiving (RX) resonators, which do not achieve the maximum achievable unloaded quality factor. This book will be of interest to researchers and professionals working on WPT-related problems.
Book Synopsis Electromigration Inside Logic Cells by : Gracieli Posser
Download or read book Electromigration Inside Logic Cells written by Gracieli Posser and published by Springer. This book was released on 2016-11-26 with total page 134 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book describes new and effective methodologies for modeling, analyzing and mitigating cell-internal signal electromigration in nanoCMOS, with significant circuit lifetime improvements and no impact on performance, area and power. The authors are the first to analyze and propose a solution for the electromigration effects inside logic cells of a circuit. They show in this book that an interconnect inside a cell can fail reducing considerably the circuit lifetime and they demonstrate a methodology to optimize the lifetime of circuits, by placing the output, Vdd and Vss pin of the cells in the less critical regions, where the electromigration effects are reduced. Readers will be enabled to apply this methodology only for the critical cells in the circuit, avoiding impact in the circuit delay, area and performance, thus increasing the lifetime of the circuit without loss in other characteristics.
