In stimulating the maximum muscle gain factor, the effectiveness is contingent upon how close you come to the point of momentary muscular failure or a specific point during a particular exercise when the muscles can no longer raise (positive phase) or lower the weight (negative phase). Back in 1982 the late Scott Chinery and a professional consultation staff at his CYBERGENICS Corporation sought out to design a comprehensive training program that would bring the muscles close to a point of 100 percent momentary muscular failure, increase strength capacity, and stimulate muscular growth as quickly and efficiently as possible. After extensive research, they created what is called the ZERO EFFORT PRINCIPLE.
