Knowledge Must's new guide book 'Work in India' is an in-depth resource featuring authoritative information on all important aspects of working as a foreigner in India. In this time of increasingly competitive labour markets, people all around the world look for challenging job opportunities beyond their home countries. India has emerged as one of the cultural and economic hotspots of the 21st century, and has developed into a major competence centre in fields as varied as IT, engineering, and the entertainment industry. "I have a good French diploma," says political science student Barbara Vassou, "but still, it is not easy to find a suitable job for me in France and I don't want to live in a 15 square metre box in Paris anymore after six years of hard studies. In India, as a young professional, my life is much more comfortable and more exciting, too. All the information I need about how to organise my life in India is covered in this guide!" Knowledge Must invites everybody to take a chance to experience one of the most captivating societies in our globalising world and witness one of the oldest, and at the same time most forward-looking, cultures. "In India you can find lots of employment opportunities in fields as varied as IT, media, and development work. However, you need to be prepared to immerse yourself in the complex Indian culture to ensure your personal and professional satisfaction", states author Daniel Ratheiser. Life for foreigners joining the Indian labour market will be so much easier once they figured out the Indian cultural environment. In addition to answering the most pressing questions, the guide features valuable insights ranging from logistics such as visa procedures and accommodation arrangements to cultural background information and inspiration for how to spend one's leisure time. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Ours is an era when human genes can be copied and patented. From genetically modified foods to digital piracy, the concept of intellectual property (IP) and the laws upholding it play a foundational role in our society, but its political and ideological dimensions have rarely been understood outside of specialist circles. This collection cuts through the legal jargon that so often surrounds IP, to provide both a comprehensive history and analysis that explores the corporate interests that shape its conception and the movements that are developing alternatives. As the nature of industry changes, we might ask: what are the wider implications of the concept of IP, be it for agribusiness and pharmaceutical companies or the film and music industries? Has IP law has been used to safeguard and assert the ownership of ideas and creativity, or is it an essential foundation of our culture? Today, with mounting challenges from the growth of free software and open source movements, this collection provides an accessible and alternative guide to IP, exploring its significance within the wider struggle between capital and the commons.

This book was released on 2015-06 with total page 213 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Six Sigma approach is generally employed to improve the sigma level of manufacturing or service processes by reducing their deviations and defects. Six Sigma provides the opportunity to eliminate mistakes, improve morale and save money. Doing things right in first time and keeping them consistent is the only idea behind Six Sigma. Its fundamental objective is to achieve customer satisfaction with continuous improvement in quality and productivity. Mostly we are emphasizing on various tools or techniques being used during DMAIC projects and almost ignore the procedure to execute different phases of the Six Sigma project. This book provides unique step by step methodologies to perform Define, Measure, Analyse, Improve and Control phases of a Six Sigma project, respectively. An empirical investigation has been carried out in a make-to-order type (medium sized) foundry and Six Sigma is successfully implemented by decreasing the scrap of piston castings, appreciably. The book focuses on scrap reduction specifically in Indian foundries and tries to find out the reasons of low productivity index. It also tends to shatter the various phobias of SMEs in context of Six Sigma by validating the compatibility of proposed methodologies through a successful case study in Indian foundry environments.

This book was released on 2018-08-06 with total page 146 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Essential India Travel Guide A Must Have Guide for the Westerners I was born in Bikaner, a small but lovely city in the middle of Rajasthan, India. We left India for the U.S. when I was 13, and didn't go back till I was 23 again. 10 years is not that long of a break for most immigrant families, but for me it was a huge shock in every sense, especially since I think I left at an early age and didn't go back until I was a grown man. The little boy inside me wanted to find everything the way I left them, but that obviously was not the case. I could not even recognize most of my closest relatives. We traveled to Mumbai (Bombay), Delhi, Kolkata and I wanted to see all of Rajasthan, which we did, then we came back the U.S. and I brought back a lot of great memories along with a promise to myself that I will go back one day and see all of India. Little did I know, just three years later, I got a job offer from an Indian multinational company that I could not refuse. As I was going through my final interview, I learned that my job would require me to travel extensively throughout India! Needless to say, I was excited, delighted and eager to leave for India. Long story short, I ended up working fifteen years for that company, but only eight of those years were spent in India. I will admit that those eight years were the most glorious times of my life, I was mesmerized by the culture, the food the music, religion and the endless colorful festivals that came around every so often. I always wanted to write about India, and now that I have something I can share, I decided to take the opportunity to write about a simple but useful travel guide that can help people from all walks of life, culture, and country. To keep this book, short and to the point, I decided not to get too much into the festivals, culture or food other than the most essential parts that I thought all travelers should know. In this guide, I covered all four corners of this great country, but not every city in every state, because that would be hard to do and the size of this book may go over 1000 pages. Instead, I covered cities and States with most popular and prominent tourist attractions. Even though I was born in India but since I didn't actually grow up there, it was a steep learning curve for me at first, but at least I knew the language (a bit), and I looked like an Indian which was helpful in my case I am sure. So when I started writing this book, I thought, I can truly bring a unique perspective to this book, because I know the best of both worlds and know how and when to bring them together and when not to. I hope you will find this book valuable in more ways than one, as not only I discuss what to see in India, but how to get prepared, how to apply for a visa, what to expect, how to plan your trips from a financial point, what type of travel agencies you can trust, what modes of transportation are the best, important cultural aspects, what food choices are safe and so much more. Let me welcome you to the beautiful land of music, dance and colors we proudly call India; I know you will love visiting here. Namaste.
