Stachiw and published by . This book was released on 1971 with total page 79 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Conical acrylic windows of 30-, 60-, 90-, and 120- and 150-degree includedangle and 0.500 to 1.250 t/D (thickness to minor diameter ratio) have beensubjected in their mounting flanges to 10,000 psi of hydrostatic pressurefor 500 and 1,000 hours at ambient room temperature. The displacement ofthe windows through the flange mounting has been recorded as a function oftime and plotted for the ready reference of the designer. The magnitude ofthe window displacement has been found to be a function of time, angle, temperature, t/ ratio and pressure. It is recommended that for safe singlesustained operation of 1,000 hour duration at 10,000 psi hydrostatic loadingat ambient temperature the windows should have an included conical angleequal or greater than 90 degrees and a minimum t/D RATIO OF 0.750. Forsustained loadings in excess of 1,000 hours the minimum t/D ratio is 1.000.(Author-PL).
