Many people who travel or live abroad are surprised to discover countries that fit them better than their own country. Discover if your personality type differs from your culture's type. Determine your personality type and learn about it through descriptions of culture types. Find out which culture fits your type when traveling, studying, working or living abroad. The popularity of personality type theory is spreading throughout Europe, Asia and the rest of the world. Every year, millions of people take personality tests like the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI). These people seek to understand themselves and others through the tool of personality type. "Where in the World Do I Belong " describes 115 cultures from around the world using Myers-Briggs personality type concepts. Insightful quotes and personal experiences of people from around the globe make "Where in the World Do I Belong " come alive. Cartoons by TRIGG illuminate and humorously depict various culture types. Reviews: Brent Massey, wrote the Hawaii book in the well-known Culture Shock series and he adopts a similar colloquial, anecdotal approach here and it is an easy read. There is a good overview of the theory and practice of the MBTI. - Dialogin website. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Back by popular demand! Here at last is the reprint of the original version of 'Where in the World? Astro*Carto*Graphy and Relocation' which was published by the CPA Press in 1999. It was produced directly from the recordings of the seminars held in London in September and October 1997. This style of format enables the reader to feel part of the lectures, and be able to relate more easily to the questions coming from the audience. An expert both in astrology and in world travel, Erin Sullivan has lived in several cultures and made innumerable relocations in her life. Wherever we go, there we are, but more potent aspects of ourselves emerge in various locations. Using the techniques of A*C*G, this book explains how we experience ourselves in various parts of the world from a person-centred and global perspective. It relates how even a minor relocation can activate unconscious or sleeping characteristics within the self. Erin teaches by example so there are case histories from the audience as well as plentiful charts and maps to illustrate the points raised. Having lived all over the world, Erin has now settled in New Mexico, USA from where she still lectures on this fascinating subject.

Professors Everist (clergy, Wartburg Theological Seminary) and Vos (laity, Muhlen-berg College) bring their insights to bear on how people's daily struggles, needs, and hopes can connect to God's mission through practical steps. These include spiritual growth and the challenge of mutual accountability. A reflections section helps readers discern God at work in their lives.

Book excerpt: Unusual place names evoke a sense of mystery and wonder. How did a place come to be called "Barefoot" or "Battle Row"? Where in the world were the "Sycamore Forest" and "Blue Ball"? Researching these names often reveals fascinating stories about local history, families, events, and politics. Clark County, Kentucky is blessed with many such interesting places. The articles in this book are collected from a column in the Winchester Sun called "Where in the World?" Each article describes an historic place name in Clark County, some well known, some not so well known. The articles were written for the Bluegrass Heritage Museum in hopes of fostering an interest in local history and the museum. This book is intended to do the same. This work includes one hundred articles that appeared in the newspaper between January 6, 2005 and August 23, 2007. A few of the articles were updated for this publication when additional information became available.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Academy Award-nominated filmmaker and director Morgan Spurlock, who volunteered his body as a guinea pig for the fast food industry in the hit documentary Super Size Me, now sets his sights even higher in Where in the World Is Osama bin Laden? Spurlock is a jittery father-to-be with a simple question: If OBL is behind 9/11 and all the ensuing worldwide chaos, then why can’t we just catch him? And furthermore, why is his message so compelling to so many people? So the intrepid Spurlock kisses his anxious wife goodbye and–armed with a complete lack of knowledge, experience, or expertise–sets out to make the world safe for infantkind and find the most wanted man on earth. After boning up on his basic knowledge of OBL, Islam, and the Global War on Terror–and learning how to treat “sucking chest wounds” in a “Surviving Hostile Regions” training course–he hits the Osama trail. He zigzags the globe, drawing ever closer to the heart of darkness near the border between Afghanistan and Pakistan, where OBL is rumored to be hiding. Along the way he interviews imams and princes, refugees and soldiers, academics and terrorists. He visits European ghettos where youth aspire to global jihad, breaks the Ramadan fast with Muslims in Cairo, rides in the bomb squad van in Tel Aviv, and writes his blood type on his Kevlar vest at a U.S. base outside of Kandahar. And then the fun really starts. Companion to the acclaimed documentary, Where in the World is Osama bin Laden? delves even deeper. What readers come away with is possibly the first-ever funny book about terrorism, as well as a greater understanding of a conflict that has cast a shadow across America and the world. www.whereisobl.com

This book was released on 1995-01-01 with total page 159 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This supplementary unit is an introduction to the geography of regions where Muslims live as majorities and a description of the circumstances in which Muslims live as minorities. The focus is more regional than national, so as to overstep the arbitrary modern borders that divide Muslim populations among numerous countries. The unit is designed to complement typical geography surveys offered in elementary social studies curricula. It is designed for grade four, but may be used for grades five and six if the curriculum so requires. Study of this unit may be undertaken after the students have received an introduction to basic geography and map skills. It is probably best undertaken during the second half of the fourth grade year, but since important geography concepts and skills are both introduced and reviewed here, the teacher may be confident to proceed earlier. The structure of the unit is unique in that the student text is in the form of a play script, whose characters, a teacher and her students, model a cooperative learning experience as they study regions of the world where Muslims live. The main objectives of this unit are to provide students with an overview of the places where Muslims live as majority and minority communities, and to investigate selected aspects of geographic and cultural diversity within the context of Islamic unity. The unit consists of an eight-lesson student text with teaching suggestions and enrichment activities. Comprehension questions, map skills and worksheets accompany the text for concept reinforcement and skill building. While the unit is designed for flexibility, it is recommended that the students be exposed to the entire student text. If time does not allow extensive study of the unit materials, the teacher may select only basic material from the teaching suggestions rather than covering these with depth and enrichment.

Book excerpt: "'Where in the world is the Philippines?' is a question that has been deftly and consistently dodged by our politicians at the expense of clearly defining the Philippines' territorial and maritime jurisdictions. Severino's scholarly work lays out what has happened in the past and what must be done in the future - and does so just as newly elected President Benigno S. Aquino begins his term in office. With the help of this timely and comprehensive study, it is imperative that Aquino and the Congress confront and resolve territorial issues once and for all." - Roberto R. Romulo, former Secretary of Foreign Affairs of the Philippines
