Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: When I was in 5th grade and went to the school social worker for depression. The social worker pointed out to me a little nick-knack on her desk that said "When Life Gives You Lemons, Make Lemonade". As if saying, I just needed to make the best of a bad situation. Sounded like a load of crap to me when I was in 5th grade, and still sounds like a load of crap today. When you are given Tequila at a bar, you can ask the bartender for training wheels (lemon and salt). If you lick the salt, squeeze a drop of lemon in your mouth, and then take a shot of Tequila a funny thing happens. The Tequila isn't as harsh as it was. Doesn't burn when it goes down your throat, or upset your stomach. Being disabled can be like a glass of Tequila. It is painful both sometimes emotionally and physically. However if you can find something from life that you enjoy. Focus on that, rather than the negative aspects of your life. You can begin to enjoy life too.

Realistically, only a very small percentage of consumer problems can be addressed by hiring a private attorney. Everyday Law for Consumers teaches practical self-help remedies that ordinary Americans can use to protect their consumer rights. Michael L. Rustad, a nationally known practicing attorney and legal scholar, translates into plain English the legalese that forms the basis for many common transactions, including consumer loans, credit repair, credit, consumer leases, usury, interest rates, Internet transactions, identity theft, distance contracts, home shopping, television advertisements, door-to-door sales, and telephone solicitations. Using real-life examples, sample complaint letters, and an appendix of further examples, this easy-to-read book empowers everyday people to become effective self-advocates in an increasingly consumer-driven society.

This book was released on 2023-02-09 with total page 111 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Ever since the beginning of the world, man has contained within him an insatiable desire to be the captain of his own ship and master of his own fate. It's a natural flaw in man in our fallen state. It really becomes problematic when pride prevents one from looking outside their selves for help or for the correct answers in life. It's not that God has abandoned us with no direction or answers, it is simply the failure to launch in oneself a humbling posture to allow us to receive that which God has given to us freely""his wisdom. "If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him" (Jas 1:5, ESV). After years of history on display, man makes the same mistake every day. He understands what faith is and knows how to apply it but fails to seek out wisdom to point him in the right direction to place his faith. Where you place your faith determines the directions your path of life will be. Will you travel the long, hard, pothole-ridden dusty road, or the well""paved, smooth, and straight road that sojourners decided to take before you to success. Why not follow them and make it easier on yourself? The book is my commentary of examples from my life where it seemed I always did it the hard way. Taking the wrong road because I trusted my feelings instead of the trusted GPS (men never stop to ask for directions). I wrote this book from my failures and my search for truth to help others reach for wisdom in decision-making processes. Of course, everyone still has that great gift from God of freedom of choice to make decisions in what they think is right. In the end, it may lead to the lemonade stand. (Proverbs 14:12)

Book excerpt: NOW THE HALLMARK CHANNEL FILM THE MAGIC OF LEMON DROPS STARRING LYNDSY FONESCA AND IAN HARDING! “Heartfelt, heartwarming, joyful, and uplifting. You can't go wrong with a Rachel Linden book.”—#1 New York Times bestselling author Debbie Macomber An uplifting novel about a heartbroken young pie maker who is granted a magical second chance to live the life she didn’t choose. . . . from the bestselling author of The Enlightenment of Bees. Lolly Blanchard's life only seems to give her lemons. Ten years ago, after her mother’s tragic death, she broke up with her first love and abandoned her dream of opening a restaurant in order to keep her family’s struggling Seattle diner afloat and care for her younger sister and grieving father. Now, a decade later, she dutifully whips up the diner’s famous lemon meringue pies each morning while still pining for all she's lost. As Lolly’s thirty-third birthday approaches, her quirky great-aunt gives her a mysterious gift—three lemon drops, each of which allows her to live a single day in a life that might have been hers. What if her mom hadn’t passed away? What if she had opened her own restaurant in England? What if she hadn’t broken up with the only man she's ever loved? Surprising and empowering, each experience helps Lolly let go of her regrets and realize the key to transforming her life lies not in redoing her past but in having the courage to embrace her present.

But for 15-year-old Jeeto, figuring out where she fits best—and what she must do to find that fit—isn't so easy. Jeeto soon realizes that the women around her do far more than drink tea on balmy California afternoons—their traditions and religion give shape to fortune and destiny in a world of arranged marriages and strict family politics that force Jeeto to struggle with reconciling the possibilities of freedom and love. In the tradition of Jhumpa Lahiri and Arundhati Roy, Under the Lemon Trees is poised to speak to this same audience in an historically successful market. A stellar debut from an acclaimed writer, this is a story about finding love and discovering a true home while navigating traditions, family and faith—part Bend it Like Beckham, part Monsoon Wedding, this is a cultural and romantic tour de force.
