Book excerpt: We can all learn from the humble lotus flower. It grows in mud and yet never lets this humble origin keep it from enjoying the full radiance of the sun. It never lets anything get in the way of its potential or its true beauty. For this reason, the lotus is a symbol of enlightenment. Like the lotus, we all have within ourselves the power to make the most of each moment. We begin to realize our true potential in the moment we choose to break free of the "mud" that would keep us trapped and limited. When we embrace our sheer potential, we stand grounded to the earth, deep in mud, ever looking to the sky. In this guide, yoga teacher Enza DeLuca shares her inspiring approach to life's challenges and opportunities. She believes that we each have unlimited potential beauty within us and that our radiance is blocked only by our own limiting thoughts, beliefs, words, and actions. She seeks to inspire readers to love the body they have. By harnessing the power of the Law of Attraction, you can manifest the body that your heart desires. There are many paths on the journey to realising your inner beauty. Everyone has an individual path on this planet. Each journey begins with a single powerful moment of intent, and Enza invites you on the journey of a lifetime. Let your individual beauty shine.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: As coaches and leaders it is easy to focus so much attention on others that we can lose sight of ourselves. Burnout, fatigue, and health issues are all too common occurrences. Coaching can be a tremendous amount of stress, and sometimes if you're not in control of it problems arise. Long hours, poor eating habits, loss of family time are just a few examples that can cause you to become out of balance. This book is about maintaining a healthy balance. I have had the opportunity to observe successful coaches and some not so successful. I know coaches who love their job and some who hate what they do. I've worked with people who were consumed so much that they never took a vacation and others who seemed to be on permanent vacation. Coaches who are in balance and feel good do a better job. The purpose of this collection is to provide you with an instrument to help you maintain proper balance and motivation.

Book excerpt: New York Times and Wall Street Journal bestseller A step-by-step plan clinically proven to break the cycle of worry and fear that drives anxiety and addictive habits We are living through one of the most anxious periods any of us can remember. Whether facing issues as public as a pandemic or as personal as having kids at home and fighting the urge to reach for the wine bottle every night, we are feeling overwhelmed and out of control. But in this timely book, Judson Brewer explains how to uproot anxiety at its source using brain-based techniques and small hacks accessible to anyone. We think of anxiety as everything from mild unease to full-blown panic. But it's also what drives the addictive behaviors and bad habits we use to cope (e.g. stress eating, procrastination, doom scrolling and social media). Plus, anxiety lives in a part of the brain that resists rational thought. So we get stuck in anxiety habit loops that we can't think our way out of or use willpower to overcome. Dr. Brewer teaches us to map our brains to discover our triggers, defuse them with the simple but powerful practice of curiosity, and to train our brains using mindfulness and other practices that his lab has proven can work. Distilling more than 20 years of research and hands-on work with thousands of patients, including Olympic athletes and coaches, and leaders in government and business, Dr. Brewer has created a clear, solution-oriented program that anyone can use to feel better - no matter how anxious they feel.

Organizations that demonstrate strong ethical commitments can gain a real competitive advantage over others by keeping employees happy and productive and keeping customers satisfied and loyal, while avoiding some of the unexpected pitfalls that may beset a less ethical organization. These factors all lead to a more stable and consistent organization, and will improve the bottom line and drives higher profits. The erosion of business ethics affects everyone, from the employees laid off, stockholders losing investments, to customers paying a higher price or receiving lesser quality. In Bringing Business Ethics to Life: Achieving Corporate Social Responsibility, best selling author Bjørn Andersen has written an easy to read yet powerful book demonstrating the need for solid ethics in every organization. Andersen first explains the importance of creating a strong ethical culture within every organization, demonstrating the positive effects it will have throughout the business. He then shows how business leaders can make this happen, by introducing a holistic value-driven and ethically based model of leadership and management that can bring about dramatic changes for any organization.

After more than a half-century of asking questions, Larry King suddenly found everyone wanted answers from him. Was Larry King Live, CNN's highest rated program, ending after three decades? Was Larry getting divorced again? The paparazzi aimed their cameras at Larry. Jay Leno and other late-night talk-show hosts were having fun at his expense. And a cloud of uncertainty hovered over CNN. All of this forced Larry to look at changes in all aspects of his life, ultimately leading to his decision to leave Larry King Live and devote more time to his marriage and children. Larry reflects on how much the world has changed around him over the course of his fifty-year career, and he has a lot to say about everything and everyone: from marriage, politics, sports, entertainment, to the justice system, broadcasting, and the American future. Truth Be Told is a candid and surprising look inside the monumental career of one of the most powerful and legendary talk-show hosts as he signs off from the nightly television program that has been close to all of our hearts.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book offers an innovative approach to moral enhancement. We, as humans, have a moral duty to be as good as we can be. Hence, moral bio-enhancement (MBE), if effective and safe, is our moral duty. However, it has to be voluntary because if it is made compulsory, human freedom (of the will) would be curtailed. As freedom (of the will) is an essential component of humanness, compulsory MBE would infringe upon our humanness. An essential question is; what will motivate humans to subject themselves voluntarily to MBE?The book argues - and supports by using empirical/experimental evidence - that morality and happiness operate in a circularly supportive relationship that applies to most humans most of the time: the better they are, the happier they will be; the happier they are, the better they will be. Hence, the grounding rationale for MBE ought not to be the prevention of “ultimate harm” based on compulsory MBE (as argued by Persson and Savulescu), but human happiness based on voluntary MBE. The primary objective of the book is to provide the readers with an original view on moral enhancement, whilst proposing a novel conception of moral enhancement that is informed by new biotechnological developments.
