Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Traveling to the stars is possible. Albert Einstein realized this when he was shown the UFO evidence that had been discovered in Roswell, New Mexico, in 1947. The evidence caused a profound unsettling of that great man's beliefs. How could creatures from other worlds ever have reached our planet? Nothing in Einstein's understanding of physics could explain it. In this book, Peter Strassberg shows how space travel can happen. The Big Bang theory, he argues, is wrong. A simpler, more concise concept-of a curved, fourth-di-mensional universe-takes its place. Gravity and inertia, two sides of the same coin, are fully explained. It is all done in an understandable, easy-to-follow fashion with clear illustrations. Finally, the author provides a concise history of events from Roswell to the present that blows the lid off the intelligence community's ongoing control of vital, advanced scientific knowledge. Extraordinary documents, obtained through FOIA, are reprinted in full in the book's appendices. They uncover the vast, hidden extraterrestrial data that is now just beginnning to trickle out to the public.

Book excerpt: Sworn to Secrecy brings to life the 1947 Roswell Incident-the crash and recovery of a craft of unknown origin. The historical novel focuses on real military and political characters and weaves a saga about how their participation in this historical event affected their professional and personal lives. While flying a nuclear bomb training mission, "Butch" Blanchard, a colonel in the Army Air Corps, witnesses an object traveling at an impossible speed, almost colliding with his plane. When the craft crashes in the New Mexico desert just outside of Roswell, Butch is placed in charge of the crash recovery and clean-up. Five "humanoid" bodies are discovered near the crash site, and Butch is suddenly dealing with alien autopsies and technology and is entangled in a massive government cover-up. He spends the rest of his career working with those who orchestrated the cover-up. As he continues to climb in rank and is ultimately promoted to deputy Joint Chief, his career aspirations and the government cover-up clash with his quest to expose the truth. The novel is a story of power struggles, conspiracy and cover-up during the Cold War era. It is set against a backdrop of the dawn of the nuclear age and the influences of the vast military complex that guided the emergence of the world's superpowers. It explores man's need to understand his place in the universe and his drive for self-preservation. Many of the events portrayed in this piece of historical fictional are supported by historical documents included in the novel's final sections. Chet Sapalio studied physics and philosophy, with a focus on general relativity and quantum theory, at the University of Pittsburgh and at the graduate level at Pennsylvania State University. His research has focused on alternate propulsion methods, including warp drive, wormhole creation, quantum tunneling, dimensional shifting and time travel. In 1999, Sapalio produced a documentary for television "Conspiracy X - Government Secrets Revealed" after living in Roswell, N.M., for two years and researching the 1947 Roswell Incident.

Book excerpt: This "compellingly hard-hitting" bestseller from a Pulitzer Prize finalist gives readers the complete untold story of the top-secret military base for the first time (New York Times). It is the most famous military installation in the world. And it doesn't exist. Located a mere seventy-five miles outside of Las Vegas in Nevada's desert, the base has never been acknowledged by the U.S. government — but Area 51 has captivated imaginations for decades. Myths and hypotheses about Area 51 have long abounded, thanks to the intense secrecy enveloping it. Some claim it is home to aliens, underground tunnel systems, and nuclear facilities. Others believe that the lunar landing itself was filmed there. The prevalence of these rumors stems from the fact that no credible insider has ever divulged the truth about his time inside the base. Until now. Annie Jacobsen had exclusive access to nineteen men who served the base proudly and secretly for decades and are now aged 75-92, and unprecedented access to fifty-five additional military and intelligence personnel, scientists, pilots, and engineers linked to the secret base, thirty-two of whom lived and worked there for extended periods. In Area 51, Jacobsen shows us what has really gone on in the Nevada desert, from testing nuclear weapons to building super-secret, supersonic jets to pursuing the War on Terror. This is the first book based on interviews with eye witnesses to Area 51 history, which makes it the seminal work on the subject. Filled with formerly classified information that has never been accurately decoded for the public, Area 51 weaves the mysterious activities of the top-secret base into a gripping narrative, showing that facts are often more fantastic than fiction, especially when the distinction is almost impossible to make.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Veteran plasma physicist John Brandenburg reveals the new theory that finally accomplishes what Einstein failed to do: the GEM Unification Theory proves the mathematical and physical interrelation of the forces of gravity and electromagnetism! This theory vindicates Einstein's dedication to unifying the fields in the final labor of his life. His quest became legendary, then mythic, until the whole idea was dismissed as myth by other physicists; the gravity-electromagnetism problem pursued by Einstein until his death became regarded like the ancient Greek problem of squaring the circle-an epic puzzle with no solution. But the other physicists were wrong, as Brandenburg shows. It turns out the fields can be unified-the circle can be squared-and this has vast implications for the future of humankind. Brandenburg starts out by tracing the evolution of thought on the two long-term forces of nature, gravity and electromagnetism, from ancient times to the modern day. He shows the intricate interweaving of Einstein's work with that of other physicists, including Sarkharov and his "zero point” theory of gravity and the hidden fifth dimension of Kaluza and Klein. He also traces the surprising, hidden influence of Nikola Tesla on Einstein's life. This book shows how, despite Einstein's errors in the details, the successful GEM Unification Theory is built on his basic hypothesis that gravity and electromagnetic forces could be unified, and that both controlled gravity and a new view of the cosmos follow: hydrogen, the basic building block of the universe, can be unified with the vacuum itself! The universe is self-renewing, a sort of "evergreen cosmos.” Brandenburg describes control of space-time geometry through electromagnetism, and states that faster-than-light travel will be possible in the future. Anti-gravity through electromagnetism is possible, which upholds the basic "flying saucer” design utilizing "The Tesla Vortex.” A must read for any person interested in UFOs and leading-edge physics. Book excerpt: “The famous 1961 Betty and Barney Hill abduction by non-humans is taken apart, meticulously re-examined by Betty’s niece Kathleen Marden and nuclear physicist Stanton T. Friedman, and reinforced by the pressure of facts.” —Linda Moulton Howe, Emmy award-winning TV producer, reporter, and editor, Earthfiles.com Today, 60 years after the UFO abduction of Betty and Barney Hill, more and more people are convinced that UFOs are real and their existence is being covered up by the government. If you have doubts or questions about the Hill case or alien experiences in general, Captured! will give you the answers you’re searching for. The 1961 abduction of the Hills stirred worldwide interest and enthralled the public and media for decades. The case is mentioned in almost all UFO abduction books. It also became a target for debunkers, who still attack it today. But the complete story of what really happened that day, its effect on the participants, and the findings of investigators has never been told—until now. In Captured! you’ll get an insider’s look at the alien abduction, previously unpublished information about the lives of the Hills before and after Barney’s death in 1969, their status as celebrities, Betty’s experiences as a UFO investigator, and other activities before her death in 2004. Kathleen Marden, Betty Hill’s niece, shares details from her discussions with Betty and from the evidence of the UFO abduction. She also looks at the Hills’ riveting hypnosis sessions about their time onboard the spacecraft. The results of a new chemical analysis of the dress Betty was abducted in is shared, which found unusual and rare elements on it Newly discovered letters at the American Philosophical Society by debunker Philip Klass, regarding an orchestrated plot to paint Betty as delusional reveal what early detractors tried to do. In addition, coauthor, physicist, and ufologist Stanton T. Friedman reviews and refutes the arguments of those who have attacked the Hill case, including the star map Betty Hill saw inside the craft and later recreated.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In 1903, despite the vehement objections of his parents, Albert Einstein married Mileva Maric, the companion, colleague, and confidante whose influence on his most creative years has given rise to much speculation. Beginning in 1897, after Einstein and Maric met as students at the Swiss Federal Polytechnic, and ending shortly after their marriage, these fifty-four love letters offer a rare glimpse into Einstein's relationship with his first wife while shedding light on his intellectual development in the period before the annus mirabilis of 1905. Unlike the picture of Einstein the lone, isolated thinker of Princeton, he appears here both as the burgeoning enfant terrible of science and as an amorous young man beset, along with his fiance, by financial and personal struggles--among them the illegitimate birth of their daughter, whose existence is known only by these letters. Describing his conflicts with professors and other scientists, his arguments with his mother over Maric, and his difficulty obtaining an academic position after graduation, the letters enable us to reconstruct the youthful Einstein with an unprecedented immediacy. His love for Maric, whom he describes as "a creature who is my equal, and who is as strong and independent as I am," brings forth his serious as well as playful, often theatrical nature. After their marriage, however, Maric becomes less his intellectual companion, and, failing to acquire a teaching certificate, she subordinates her professional goals to his. In the final letters Einstein has obtained a position at the Swiss Patent Office and mentions their daughter one last time to his wife in Hungary, where she is assumed to have placed the girl in the care of relatives. Informative, entertaining, and often very moving, this collection of letters captures for scientists and general readers alike a little known yet crucial period in Einstein's life.

Book excerpt: “When I finished Witness to Roswell, I said to myself, ‘Case closed!’ for the very wealth and sheer weight of eyewitness testimony.”—George Noory, host, Coast to Coast AM This classic in the field of UFOology is filled with hard-hitting eyewitness testimony of one of the most important events of all time: the actual recovery of a UFO outside of Roswell, New Mexico, in 1947. For more than 70 years, government authorities have led us to believe the wreckage was merely a very conventional weather balloon—but the witnesses who were there continue to tell a different story. Witness to Roswell once again provides a "can't put down" written account of what really transpired in Roswell decades ago. It pries loose the truth the government doesn't want us to know including the revelations of Walter Haut. This edition includes: A growing litany of deathbed confessions describing the "little people" recovered at the crash site. The most comprehensive time line of events ever published on this seminal event. The identity of the Boeing engineer called in to examine the exotic wreckage from the crash. What really took place at the Roswell base hospital and what nurse actually ordered the children’s caskets. The story of the soldier who wore gloves at the dinner table after guarding the "bodies." Clearly, the implications of this information are foreboding. One need only look at the fact that officials now have four explanations for this historic event—but to which one do all the witnesses testify on their deathbeds? Witness to Roswell once again demonstrates to the world that no statute of limitation applies to the truth: We are not alone. This anniversary edition includes a new introduction by the authors and additional material.

This provocative new book cautiously examines the premise that extraterrestrials may instead be our distant human descendants, using the anthropological tool of time travel to visit and study us in their own hominin evolutionary past. Dr. Michael P. Masters, a professor of biological anthropology specializing in human evolutionary anatomy, archaeology, and biomedicine, explores how the persistence of long-term biological and cultural trends in human evolution may ultimately result in us becoming the ones piloting these disc-shaped craft, which are likely the very devices that allow our future progeny to venture backward across the landscape of time. Moreover, these extratempestrials are ubiquitously described as bipedal, large-brained, hairless, human-like beings, who communicate with us in our own languages, and who possess technology advanced beyond, but clearly built upon, our own. These accounts, coupled with a thorough understanding of the past and modern human condition, point to the continuation of established biological and cultural trends here on Earth, long into the distant human future.

Book excerpt: Recognized as the father of palliative care in North America, Balfour Mount facilitated a sea change in medical practice by foregrounding concern for the whole person facing incurable illness. In this intimate and far-reaching memoir, Mount leads the reader through the formative moments and milestones of his personal and professional life as they intersected with the history of medical treatment over the last fifty years. Mount's lifelong pursuit of understanding the needs of dying patients began during his training as a surgical oncologist at Montreal's Royal Victoria Hospital in the 1960s. He established the first comprehensive clinical program for end-of-life care in a teaching hospital in 1975 at McGill University's Royal Victoria Hospital, thus leading the charge for palliative medicine as a new specialty. His journey included collaboration with two storied healthcare innovators, British hospice pioneer Dame Cicely Saunders and American psychiatrist Elisabeth Kübler-Ross, leading to a more fulsome understanding of the physical, psychosocial, and existential or spiritual needs of patients, their families, and their caregivers in the health care setting. This compelling narrative documents how the 'Royal Vic' team became internationally recognized as effective advocates of quality of life at the crossroad between life and death. From meetings with Viktor Frankl, the Dalai Lama and other teachers, to a memorable telephone chat with Mother Teresa, Mount recalls with appreciation, humour and humility, the places and people that helped to shed light on this universal human experience.

Book excerpt: Unidentified phenomena in space, in the Earth's atmosphere, and in waters are too important to leave their exploration to the military and scientific laypersons. Their proper scientific study is important for a variety of reasons; in particular, scientists and the public at large need to know the basic facts, to be informed about the way evidence is recorded, and to understand the difference been reliable evidence and fiction, as well as between plausible explanations and fantasy. With this objective, the book surveys the history of UFO observations, the variety of recorded phenomena, and recounts the efforts of investigative commissions and their published findings. Although wild rumors are demystified in the process, this is not an exercise in rumor-bashing. An open and at the same time critical mindset is the key. Many narratives and hypothesis appear implausible relative to our present state of knowledge; but this alone should not lead to their outright exclusion. Thus the author also pays attention to UFO sightings that have so far eluded explanation in terms of known physics or meteorology. Here the reader will encounter some of the more speculative but scientifically tenable proposals, for example, relating to sudden zigzag motion without apparent inertia or recognizable propulsion, yet always with a clear guide to their plausibility. Last but not least, the book outlines plans and suggestions for future research capable of revealing the existence and intentions of extraterrestrial intelligences, outer-space engineers, or technologies so far known only from science fiction.

Book excerpt: The Flying Saucers Are Real by Donald Keyhoe, printed in 1950, is one of the first books investigating numerous encounters between the United States Air Force fighters, personnel, and other aircraft and UFOs between 1947 and 1950. The author contended that the Air Force was investigating these cases of close encounters, with a policy of concealing. Keyhoe also said that Earth had been visited by extraterrestrials for two centuries, with the frequency of these visits increasing sharply after the first atomic weapon test in 1945.
