Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: But the Bible, more than any other book, is also the most maligned on the market. Many of the cities of our culture dismiss the Word of God. In What If the Bible Had Never Been Written?, D. James Kennedy and Jerry Newcombe show that this collection of books was indeed the inspiration for almost all of the great explorers, scientists, writers, artists, politicians, and educators the world has ever known. That such a book, which has influenced so many and stood the test of time for so long, is dismissed as folklore or myth, just goes to show what extremes nonbelievers will go to rationalize their behavior. From the Ten Commandments, which many of our laws and government are based upon, to the Golden Rule, a verse taken straight out of the New Testament, to many of today's most common phrases and expressions...there is no doubt as to the influence the Bible has on everyone, in some degree, every day. What If the Bible Had Never Been Written? provides a well-documented and in-depth look at the impact the Book of Books has had on humanity, pointing to specific areas in today's society that would not be as they are now, if it were not for the Bible.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Perhaps enough has been said to show that the Bible is the most creating, regenerating, civilizing, humanizing, educating, reforming, and inspiring power in all the world, and that the most lurid imagination cannot conceive what would be the state of the world to-day if there had never been a Bible. But we place this emphasis on the Book, only because it is the one inspired and authoritative record of the redemption which is in Christ Jesus. It is little wonder that, throughout the ages, the devil has attempted to discredit or destroy the Bible, in spite of Christians, and, alas, sometimes by means of them.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: One powerful truth is undeniable: if Christ had never been born, nearly every facet of human life would be worse. Discover what the world would have been like without Jesus, and how some of the world’s greatest accomplishments exist only because he lived. We live in a cynical age in which only one prejudice is tolerated: anti-Christian bigotry. Yet despite the near constant and attacks against the faith, one powerful truth is undeniable: if Christ had never been born, nearly every aspect of human life would be much more miserable than it is today. In What if Jesus Had Never Been Born?, discover: Christianity’s impact on the value of human life, helping the poor, and education Christianity’s impact on world history and the founding of America Christianity’s contribution to civil liberties, science, medicine, and economics Lives changed by Jesus Christ The author also examines what happens in a world without Christianity, as well as fulfilling the purpose of believers as we move forward. Arranged topically and presenting compelling, little-known historical facts, What If Jesus Had Never Been Born? clearly demonstrates that an enormous benefits to humankind—from economics to art to government, science to civil liberties, morality to health, and beyond—would never have occurred had Jesus Christ not lived.

The winner of the 2016 Pulitzer Prize for Fiction, as well as seven other awards, The Sympathizer is the breakthrough novel of the year. With the pace and suspense of a thriller and prose that has been compared to Graham Greene and Saul Bellow, The Sympathizer is a sweeping epic of love and betrayal. The narrator, a communist double agent, is a “man of two minds,” a half-French, half-Vietnamese army captain who arranges to come to America after the Fall of Saigon, and while building a new life with other Vietnamese refugees in Los Angeles is secretly reporting back to his communist superiors in Vietnam. The Sympathizer is a blistering exploration of identity and America, a gripping espionage novel, and a powerful story of love and friendship.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: “More than 60 years ago,” remembered Mr. Stvarnik, “I read the books From Ancient Philosophy to Modern Science of Atoms by prof. dr. Ivan Supek, and the Images from the Lives of Great Scientists by prof. dr. Milutin Milankovic, and for me these are still the most beautiful scientific texts.” From that time, as a much loving hobby, Mr. Stvarnik has studied biographies of great scientists. “I have grown up in an atheistic country,” he once said, “and therefore it was a surprise to find that there were very few atheistic or agnostic scientists; the majority of them were some kind of believers in God. Actually, a good number of the greatest scientific minds were or are Bible-believing Christians.” That realization, along with discoveries of some deliberate distortions of historical facts that made certain Bible-believing scientists look as having an atheistic bent, prompted writing a book The Portraits of the Great Bible-believing Scientists that was published in Croatian and in Serbian languages. Now he has written the same in English, but since many years elapsed from the mentioned publications, he enriched the text with new findings and added 12 new portraits into the book.

Except what I hold dear in the service of my God, the Father, and my Lord, the Son of God, Christ Jesus our Lord and Savior. I hold no brotherhood with religion, except to Christ. So I call myself Christian. As I believe in the Spirit of the most High God and the Christ Child, Jesus. The One that says, "Truly I say, My Father and I are one." Proclaim the "Good News" and praise the Holy Spirit that tells His word, just what and when to write. I spent my life as a Master Mariner, a Captain in the United States Merchant Marines. Along the way of life, I guess you could say Jesus called me to be a fisher of men. He gave me a wife, to help spread vision and insight into the Holy Bible, of then and now. What the Scripture points to, in the here and now. To make us aware of the Great Storm of the then and now! To point direction to the Son, Jesus is the way. The Father wants us all to come home. 2 Peter 1:20-21 2 Timothy 3:16 What more need I say. God Bless You

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Do you sometimes feel you have to check your intellect at the church door, leaving reason behind to embrace the Christian faith? Do you hunger for a “full gospel” that includes the mind as well as heart and Spirit? Full Gospel, Fractured Minds? challenges charismatic and Pentecostal believers to discover the power of a well-maintained mind—a mind on fire—to match a heart on fire and to create a life that operates within the full counsel of God . Nañez shows how human reason helps us understand and interpret God’s Word as well as defend the gospel. He shows what the Bible teaches about the mind, and explores the backgrounds of nineteenth-century and modern culture, anti-intellectualism, Pentecostal history and beliefs, and popular misconceptions about human intellect in relation to the Christian faith. Full Gospel, Fractured Minds? helps men and women practice a Christian faith that reflects the whole person and the full gospel. “Rick Nañez calls Pentecostals and charismatics to seek a balance between mind and Spirit. This book will stir you to seek all that God has for you.” —From the Foreword by Stanley M. Horton, PhD

This book was released on 2020-07-08 with total page 247 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In Reference and Identity in Jewish, Christian, and Muslim Scriptures: The Same God?, D. E. Buckner argues that all reference is story-relative. We cannot tell which historical individual a person is talking or writing about or addressing in prayer without familiarity with the narrative (oral or written) which introduces that individual to us, so we cannot understand reference to God, nor to his prophets, nor to any other character mentioned in the Jewish, Christian, or Muslim scriptures, without reference to those very scriptures. In this context we must understand God as the person who “walked in the garden in the cool of the day” (Gen. 3:8), and who is continuously referred to in the books of the Hebrew Bible and New Testament, as well as the Quran. Further developing ideas presented by the late Fred Sommers in his seminal The Logic of Natural Language, Buckner argues that singular reference and singular conception is empty outside such a context.
