Book excerpt: The HR chicks have many comical experiences working together. Well, we think so. She has seen it all and has had to deal with many unpleasant experiences. She had gotten to a point in her career where work was just a job. Insert me here. I had experience, but was not prepared for the environment I had walked in to. I was used to a more "normal" environment so to speak. But let's be honest, is normal really any fun anymore? Can you laugh at normal? Write a book about it? No. I had decided early on I wanted to be involved in HR or training of some sort. Why I will never know. Something about the field has always drawn me in. Intrigued me so to speak, but for this job, thank God I minored in Psychology. The HR chicks clicked immediately. A mentor relationship was formed and work became a playground that they both actually enjoyed going to. Well let me rephrase, it became tolerable. She gave me the knowledge and know-how to be successful, and I gave her a new perspective and my wacky view on things to make the environment more enjoyable. Our stories in this book are crazy, yes. Is it our perspective of the situation, yes, but remember we are professionals, because WE are the HR chicks.

Book excerpt: At a school where Quantum Paradox 101 is a required course and history field trips are literal, sixteen year-old time traveler Bree Bennis excels...at screwing up. After Bree botches a solo midterm to the 21st century by accidentally taking a boy hostage (a teensy snafu), she stands to lose her scholarship. But when Bree sneaks back to talk the kid into keeping his yap shut, she doesn't go back far enough. The boy, Finn, now three years older and hot as a solar flare, is convinced he's in love with Bree, or rather, a future version of her that doesn't think he's a complete pain in the arse. To make matters worse, she inadvertently transports him back to the 23rd century with her. Once home, Bree discovers that a recent rash of accidents at her school are anything but accidental. Someone is attacking time travelers. As Bree and her temporal tagalong uncover seemingly unconnected clues—a broken bracelet, a missing data file, the art heist of the millennium—that lead to the person responsible, she alone has the knowledge to piece the puzzle together. Knowledge only one other person has. Her future self. But when those closest to her become the next victims, Bree realizes the attacker is willing to do anything to stop her. In the past, present, or future.

While she grapples with her own grief and guilt, she is being stalked by spies with an insidious connection to the dead cycling champion. Tessa’s pursuit of an explanation for Juan Carlos’s untimely death leads her from the quiet New England backwoods to bustling bike shops and ultimately to Ecuador itself, Juan Carlos’s homeland. Book excerpt: When firefighter Connor Mahoney decides to run for mayor, he’s confident of victory because of his brilliant idea to put Frank, a local canine hero who saved a drowning child, on the ticket with him. Then Connor gets some unwanted help from the Dogmothers, who think a pretty new arrival from Washington DC would make a perfect campaign manager for their highly-eligible bachelor grandson. Connor might like the idea of working with gorgeous Sadie Hartman, but she's doing her best to keep him at arm's length. Disillusioned by politics after her DC experience, Sadie doesn’t want the job, no matter how smoking hot the sexy firefighter is, or how much his sweet grannies push their matchmaking plan. But then Sadie learns that the race has another candidate—a man who was instrumental in wrecking her family. Uncertain the “dog and firefighter” ticket can win, Sadie launches her own campaign to be mayor of Bitter Bark. But everyone is in for a big surprise when a two-hundred year-old law is unearthed to upend the entire election. The only way for Sadie or Connor to save the town from a terrible mayor is to join forces in a way no one is expecting. As Sadie and Connor discover that the best part of running against each other is literally being against each other, it doesn’t take long to realize that sometimes winning the race means losing your heart. The Dogmothers – a spinoff series from the popular “Dogfather” books Hot Under the Collar - Book one Three Dog Night - Book two Dachshund Through the Snow - Book three Chasing Tail - Book four And more to come! Just like The Dogfather books, the covers of The Dogmothers series were all photographed at Alaqua Animal Refuge in Florida, using rescue dogs from the shelter and “local heroes” as models. A portion of book sales is donated to that amazing organization.

After finding, and apprehending, his absentee father, Alex Cheradon and his team are ready for their flight back home to Clayton City. One six hour nonstop flight from Las Vegas and then everything’s back to normal. Except that this isn’t an ordinary flight. And Charles Cheradon isn’t an ordinary scientist. Hence the ‘mad’ label. And Devon Christian…Well, obviously he’s not normal. That just goes without saying. And Alex Cheradon has an excellent track record for being in the wrong place, at the wrong time, for the wrong reasons. This flight isn’t going to be any different. Trapped on a flight that feels like it’s going nowhere, Alex finds himself worrying about his crazy partner, having to go head-to head-with a terrorist and, worst of all, dealing with a deadbeat dad who just wants to have a heart-to-heart with his son.

This book was released on 2016-05-20 with total page 480 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This collection bundles two of popular author Sophie Hudson’s books together in one e-book, for a great value! A Little Salty to Cut the Sweet There’s nothing quite like family—for good or bad. But in a world where we sometimes know more about the Kardashians than we do the people sleeping right down the hall, it’s easy to forget that walking through life with our family offers all sorts of joy wrapped up in the seemingly mundane. There’s even a little bit of sacred sitting smack-dab in the middle of the ordinary. And since time’s-a-wastin’, we need to be careful that we don’t take our people—and their stories—for granted. Whether it’s a marathon bacon-frying session, a road trip gone hysterically wrong, or a mother-in-law who makes every trip to the grocery store an adventure, author Sophie Hudson reminds us how important it is to slow down and treasure the day-to-day encounters with the people we love the most. Written in the same witty style as Sophie’s BooMama blog, A Little Salty to Cut the Sweet is a cheerful, funny, and tender account of Sophie’s very Southern family. It’s a look into the real lives of real people—and a real, loving God right in the middle of it all. Home Is Where My People Are All roads lead to home. It’s easy to go through life believing that we can satisfy our longing for home with a three-bedroom, two-bath slice of the American dream that we mortgage at 4 percent and pay for over the course of thirty years. But ultimately, in our deepest places, we’re really looking to belong and to be known. And what we sometimes miss in our search for the perfect spot to set up camp is that wherever we are on the long and winding road of life, God is at work in the journey, teaching us, shaping us, and refining us—sometimes through the most unlikely people and circumstances. In Home Is Where My People Are, Sophie Hudson takes readers on a delightfully quirky journey through the South, introducing them to an unforgettable cast of characters, places, and experiences. Along the way, she reflects on how God has used each of the stops along the road to impart timeless spiritual wisdom and truth. Nobody embodies the South like Sophie Hudson, and this nostalgic celebration of home is sure to make even those north of the Mason-Dixon line long to settle in on the front porch with a glass of sweet tea and reflect on all of the people in our lives who—related or not—have come to represent home. Because at the end of the day, it’s not the address on the front door or even the name on the mailbox that says home, but the people who live and laugh and love there, wherever there might happen to be.
