In summer appreciable oxidation occurs during storage, although to a greater extent with No. 6 coal than with No. 5. It appears, however, that for best coking results none of these coals should be stocked in the usual storage piles in warm weather longer than 30 days. The control of the Engineering Experiment Station is vested in the heads of the several departments of the College of Engineering.
