Warren Sharp's 236-page full color 2017 Football Preview is unlike anything you have seen before. Stunning visualizations built with the reader in mind and innovative, next level thought process abound in every team chapter and article. This book shares insights into the players, coaches, teams and philosophies with one goal in mind: to get you prepared for the 2017 season by delivering the smartest information in the fastest, most direct way possible for optimal reviewing and retention. PDF copy here: http://bit.ly/1qPWB7d Every key element you would want to study is included, such as Fantasy Football (player profiles, ranks & visualizations), Vegas Odds (forecast team wins, division rankings, lines for all 2017 games), Coaching (strategic advice for teams, real vs optimal play calling analysis & uncovering team tendencies) and Front Office Analysis (positional spending, roster construction & cap analysis). Team chapters are detailed and intelligently organized for a massive revolution in reader understanding and information retention Warren believes the best way to be successful in fantasy football or betting is to do the opposite of most other publications. There is an industry rush to dive head first into player rankings & projections. Warren starts with fundamental discussion of the game, the teams, their coaching strategy and the players. He then analyzes their strengths and weaknesses with visualizations and data to support the narrative. Using that framework, Warren constructs projections and outlook. By previewing the NFL season in this manner, the reader walks away with much more than ever envisioned or delivered in a season preview. This season preview is not only superior to the many magazines you see, it's also unique, and thus provides an inherent edge to all who review and learn from it. It also contains embedded audio & video, which will be updated in late July (before training camp) and late August (after the preseason) for even more value-added content. This preview incredibly combines evergreen philosophical "football" analysis you would find in a reference book with immediate, relevant predictions for the 2017 season. Here are what the pros want you to know: "Warren's dedication and acumen for analyzing football is clearly evident in the work he produces. This book is completely unlike anything I've read in a preview before, but that's what I've come to expect from Warren. His ability to approach the game logically, analytically and in a predictive manner sets him apart from the crowd. Between the narratives, articles and graphics, I have no doubt after reading this preview you will be far more prepared for your fantasy drafts and just football in general. If you're a NFL fan of any kind, I cannot recommend this preview enough." Evan Silva, Rotoworld.com Senior Football Editor "Warren's Football Preview is amazing. It touches on everything you could hope to find, and many things you never thought you'd find, in a preview. It's not often that a football mind like Warren lays out his thoughts as extensively, in such an organized manner for easy reading and comprehension. I don't see how anyone could afford to pass this book up if they plan to make money on football this fall. It's that good." Bill Krackomberger, Las Vegas, winning pro gambler (ESPN/CNN) "When it comes to the NFL, there is no one I trust and use more than Warren Sharp. Warren has an amazing grasp of the analytics that matter... & how to implement those in a practical & easy to read format." Matthew Holt, COO of CG Analytics "A truly indispensable resource... makes up for mainstream media's shortcomings. Certain to give you a leg up on both sportsbooks & your fantasy competition alike." Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Innovative and visually stunning. Often these are diametric opposites. The most innovative research is typically found in black and white text of medical journals or scientific white papers. The visually stunning material is usually thin and shallow, but does look good. Warren Sharp''s 150-page full color preview combines both innovative, next level thinking with a massive revolution in presentation and reader interface. This magazine breaks down the teams into their parts, so readers can understand elementally how they are built, how they function, and why they succeed or fail. Once established, it shifts into advanced metrics and analytics from the granular level of player efficiency and performance to how those players fit into their team (through roster construction, cap space & offseason player acquisition), 2016 schedule preview, forecast production, predictions and the most visually stunning presentation of information that a season preview magazine has ever attempted to include. PDF Version: http://bit.ly/1qPWB7d Here you''ll also find sections on game theory, optimal play calling, roster formation, strategy and much more. Instead of "dinosaur" stats that so many use, such as ranking defenses by total yards allowed. In this publication, Warren uses many of his own, unique stats based on years of research. These custom analytics are predictive in nature, such as his proprietary EDSR metric, which is more correlated to victory than any statistic other than turnovers, but unlike turnovers, is also capable of being modeled predictively to forecast results. Warren shares weekly results from metrics like these, to better appreciate team performance in 2016, as well as full season rankings to compare these and many other metrics to other teams while factoring in prior strength of schedule. While in theory all of that information sounds great, without proper presentation, it is hard to digest. That is why Warren spent the same amount of focus on presentation. In particular, this magazine is focused for "visual learners". The ability for the public to consume and "value" statistics is diminished by lack of context as well as the age in which we live. In the newspaper era (from a sports perspective) the only option was targeting "reading/writing learners". Statistics, box scores and standings displayed in columns in a table. Unfortunately, for most sites, that has not changed very much. Most every website and publication displays statistics in black and white table format. The problem is, in the modern video/app world, most people are becoming "visual learners". Inside, you will find: 2016 Season Predictions/Projections + Week by Week Projections Team Chapters + Player Profiles w Breakout Potential Fantasy/Vegas Odds Visualized Data Season and Weekly Strength of Schedule Play Tendencies, Optimal Play Calling + Coaching Tendencies New Analytics/Advanced Metrics Efficiency Analysis by Team Personnel Movement Impact Cap/Spending visualized over depth charts College Conference Projections Warren Sharp''s 2016 Football Preview also contains embedded audio, enabling you to follow along to more detailed analysis, explanations and insight delivered from Warren Sharp. There are studies that the daily fantasy crowd will find extremely valuable, including situational player production and delta points, both of which have never been done to this level before. There are Vegas odds and win totals. But Warren Sharp''s 2016 Football Preview is not simply a fantasy football preview nor is it a sports betting preview. It is so much deeper than both, but it will help the reader perform better in both venues. Simply put, this publication is absolutely the fastest way for anyone to get smart for the 2016 football season, featuring the best analytics & analysis delivered in an easy to absorb and retain manner.

Book excerpt: This Open access book offers updated and revised information on vessel health and preservation (VHP), a model concept first published in poster form in 2008 and in JVA in 2012, which has received a great deal of attention, especially in the US, UK and Australia. The book presents a model and a new way of thinking applied to vascular access and administration of intravenous treatment, and shows how establishing and maintaining a route of access to the bloodstream is essential for patients in acute care today. Until now, little thought has been given to an intentional process to guide selection, insertion and management of vascular access devices (VADs) and by default actions are based on crisis management when a quickly selected VAD fails. The book details how VHP establishes a framework or pathway model for each step of the patient experience, intentionally guiding, improving and eliminating risk when possible. The evidence points to the fact that reducing fragmentation, establishing a pathway, and teaching the process to all stakeholders reduces complications with intravenous therapy, improves efficiency and diminishes cost. As such this book appeals to bedside nurses, physicians and other health professionals.

This book was released on 2016-11-17 with total page 492 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This comprehensive report, published as part of the Football Players Health Study at Harvard University, more than two years in the making and 493 pages long, is an unprecedented step towards improving player health, concluding with several important recommendations. To date, there has been no analysis of the universe of stakeholders that may influence the health of NFL players, nor any systematic analysis of their existing or appropriate legal and/or ethical obligations. While clinical health care interventions are essential, player health also depends on understanding the wider context in which players work. The report examines 20 diverse stakeholders: NFL players, the NFL, the NFLPA, NFL club medical staff, second opinion, neutral and personal doctors, NFL clubs and personnel, NFL coaches, contract advisors, financial advisors, equipment managers and manufacturers, players' family members, officials, the media, NFL business partners, and fans. In total, the report makes 76 recommendations. Highlights of the key proposals are summarized below: * Conflicts of interest: The current arrangement under which a team's medical staff, including doctors and athletic trainers, have responsibility both to the players and to the club presents an inherent structural conflict of interest. A division of responsibilities between two distinct groups of medical professionals is needed to minimize such conflict and ensure that players receive medical care that is as unbiased and uninfluenced by competing interests as possible. Care and treatment should be provided by one set of medical professionals, called the "Players' Medical Staff," appointed by a joint committee with representation from both the NFL and NFLPA. The evaluation of players for business purposes should be conducted by a separate set of medical personnel, known as the "Club Evaluation Doctors." * Player health and adversarial collective bargaining: The NFL and NFLPA should refrain from making improvements to player health policies a "bargaining chip" in labor negotiations, to the extent that this is not already the case. Players should never be asked to trade their healthcare for other benefits in the collective bargaining process. * Ethical guidelines: Various stakeholders - including club doctors, athletic trainers, coaches, contract advisors, and financial advisors - should adopt, improve and enforce Codes of Ethics specific to the environment of the NFL.* Ongoing research into the health effects of the game: The NFL and NFLPA should continue to initiate and support efforts to scientifically and reliably identify the health risks and benefits of playing professional football. * Access to data: The NFL and, to the extent possible the NFLPA, should make aggregate, de-identified injury data publicly available for independent reanalysis. They should also continue to improve their robust collection of data and offer it to qualified professionals for analysis. * Meaningful penalties: The collective bargaining agreement (CBA)should be amended to impose meaningful fines for any club or person found to have violated Sections 1 through 6 of Article 39 of the 2011 CBA (players' rights to medical care and treatment). * Investing in players' health and care: The NFLPA should consider investing greater resources to investigate and enforce player health issues and enforce player rights, including Article 39 of the CBA. Published alongside the report are a list of the Top 10 Recommendations in the report (also included in the Executive Summary at the beginning of the report), and A Patient Bill of Rights for NFL Players - including current and proposed rights under the CBA, NFL policy, law and/or codes of ethics (which can be found on the Football Players Health Study at Harvard University website).

Book excerpt: An NAACP Image Award Finalist for Outstanding Literary Work—Non Fiction James Beard award–winning author Adrian Miller vividly tells the stories of the African Americans who worked in the presidential food service as chefs, personal cooks, butlers, stewards, and servers for every First Family since George and Martha Washington. Miller brings together the names and words of more than 150 black men and women who played remarkable roles in unforgettable events in the nation's history. Daisy McAfee Bonner, for example, FDR's cook at his Warm Springs retreat, described the president's final day on earth in 1945, when he was struck down just as his lunchtime cheese souffle emerged from the oven. Sorrowfully, but with a cook's pride, she recalled, "He never ate that souffle, but it never fell until the minute he died." A treasury of information about cooking techniques and equipment, the book includes twenty recipes for which black chefs were celebrated. From Samuel Fraunces's "onions done in the Brazilian way" for George Washington to Zephyr Wright's popovers, beloved by LBJ's family, Miller highlights African Americans' contributions to our shared American foodways. Surveying the labor of enslaved people during the antebellum period and the gradual opening of employment after Emancipation, Miller highlights how food-related work slowly became professionalized and the important part African Americans played in that process. His chronicle of the daily table in the White House proclaims a fascinating new American story.
