Dies hat zur Folge, dass wir andere Götter nicht als vorhanden bezeichnen. Dies kann zu einem Konflikt führen zwischen Lehrer und Schüler anderer Religionen. Ich habe mich für diese Hausarbeit für das Thema "Von der Monolatrie zum Monotheimus" entschieden, da in der Veranstaltung "Theologien im Alten Testament" im Sommersemester 2009 an der Pädagogischen Hochschule Weingarten mein Interesse für die Thematik geweckt wurde. Ferner interessiere ich mich auch privat für die Geschichte des Christentums. Beginnen wird die Arbeit mit den Begriffsklärungen des "Polytheimus" und des "Monotheismus". Der Hauptteil der Arbeit wird die historische und biblische Darstellung des Themas beinhalten. In meiner abschließenden Reflexion werde ich meine subjektiven Gedanken zu der Thematik äußern und die gesamte Arbeit bewerten. Das Ziel dieser Arbeit soll sein, dass der Leser / die Leserin einen umfangreichen Einblick in das Thema "Von der Monolatrie zum Monotheimus" erhält.

Es bestand sozusagen eine gegenseitige Akzeptanz der verschiedenen Glaubensrichtungen. Man hielt die Vorstellung, dass jedes Volk seinen eigenen Gott oder seine eigenen G tter hat f r richtig. Auch heute noch existieren Religionen und Glaubensrichtungen, die mehrere Gottheiten oder "G tterhierarchien" mit G ttern und Halbg ttern haben, wie zum Beispiel der Hinduismus oder der Buddhismus. In der vorliegenden Arbeit m chte ich mich damit besch ftigen, wie es zu diesem Bruch von der Akzeptanz anderer G tter zu einer rigorosen Ablehnung jeglicher Existenz anderer G tter als dem EINEN Gott gekommen ist.

Im Hinblick auf den evangelischen Religionsunterricht wird immer noch vorherrschend von einem Monotheismus ausgegangen, der sich nicht aus anderen Religionsformen entwickelt hat, sondern von Anfang an existierte. Die Theorie, dass der Eingottglaube im alten Orient nicht von Anfang an als gegeben vorausgesetzt werden kann, begegnete mir erst im Laufe meines Studiums. Die Richtigstellung meines gelehrten Irrglauben löste bei mir die Faszination für dieses Examensthema aus. Der Monotheismus, wie wir ihn heute kennen, durchlief mehrere Entwicklungsphasen. Nach heutigem Stand der Wissenschaft soll der Monotheismus erst durch den Propheten Deuterojesja in der Exilzeit begründet worden sein. Am Beispiel des ältesten Schriftpropheten Amos, der wahrscheinlich um die 200 Jahre vor dem babylonischen Exil Israel den Untergang voraussagte, möchte ich herausstellen in wie fern er schon ein monotheistisches Gottesbild in sich trug. Ich beginne diese Arbeit mit einer allgemeinen Definition des Begriffes Monotheismus. In Anlehnung daran, werden ebenso Begriffe wie Polytheismus, Henotheismus und Monolatrie angeführt und erläutert. Daran anschließend stelle ich eine mögliche Entwicklung des Monotheismus im alten Israel vor, wie sie an Hand von Bibeltexten und verschiedenen archäologischen Funden von der Wissenschaft dargestellt wird. Um die Fragestellung, ob Amos schon ein Monotheist war, beantworten zu können, wird im Folgenden das Leben des Propheten untersucht. Dabei gehe ich besonders auf die Überschrift in Am 1,1 und den Fremdbericht Am 7,10-17 ein. Um die Zeit, in der Amos lebte und wirkte, genauer zu beleuchten, wird die politische und wirtschaftliche Situation Israels, unter der Berücksichtigung verschiedener Worte des Propheten, erklärend hinzugezogen. Weitere Aspekte um einen möglichen Monotheismus bei Amos nachweisen zu können, wird auf die Verkündigungen des Amos ́ und den Fremdbericht in Am 7,10-17 eingegangen.

For the last three decades, this has broadened our insight into the development of the Israelite religion and its literature. However, up to now there has been little consensus on this subject. Based on an analysis of the relevant biblical texts themselves, this volume explores the development of the JHWH religion from the de facto monolatry of preexilic times to the monolatric program of Deuteronomy and the well thought-out monotheism in Second Isaiah. It also takes a look at its reception in Second Temple Judaism as described in the Book of Ezekiel, and depicts the breaking down of JHWH's confines from his being regarded as a local deity, then to a local dynasty, a people and finally to the belief that the God of Israel is the only God of heaven and earth. Aufbauend auf dem im Rahmen dieser Debatte erreichten Erkenntnisstand weist er die Entwicklung der JHWH-Verehrung von der faktischen oder praktischen Monolatrie der vorexilischen Konigszeit zur programmatischen Monolatrie und zum exklusiven Monotheismus in exilisch-nachexilischer Zeit an den einschlagigen Texten selbst nach und stellt sie im Zusammenhang dar. Im Deuteronomium zeichnet er eine zwar nicht auf allen Stufen seiner Entstehung gleichermassen breite, aber dennoch kontinuierliche Entwicklungslinie nach, ausgehend vom Kultzentralisationsgebot Dtn 12,13ff., dem Hore Israel Dtn 6,4 und der Bundesformel Dtn 26,17f. uber das Erste Gebot des Dekalogs Dtn 5,7.9, nachtraglich erweitert um das Bilderverbot Dtn 5,8, zum expliziten Monotheismus in Dtn 4. Er korreliert diese Entwicklungslinie mit dem monotheistischen Bekenntnis Deuterojesajas und zeigt, dass dieses das monolatrische Programm des Deuteronomiums voraussetzt, seinerseits jedoch dessen monotheistische Passagen beeinflusst hat. Sven Petry analysiert die einschlagigen Passagen des Ezechielbuches und weist auf, dass sie - anders als nach der traditionellen, auf dem Eigenzeugnis des Buches fussenden Datierung zu erwarten ware - noch einen Schritt weiter gehen und die Konsequenzen des monotheistischen Bekenntnisses im Blick auf das Gottesbild und die innere Verfassung Israels bedenken.
