Kinder und Jugendliche stehen vor der Aufgabe, ihre vielfältigen Entwicklungsaufgaben innerhalb dieser schnelllebigen, sich stetig verändernden Lebensrealität zu bewältigen, eine eigene Identität zu entwickeln und sich innerhalb der Gesellschaft zu verorten. Durch die Entwicklung des Schulwesens hin zu mehr Ganztagsschulen verbringen sie immer mehr der ihnen zur Verfügung stehenden Zeit in der Institution Schule, sodass diese zu einer der wichtigsten Sozialisationsinstanzen in allen Lebensbereichen für Kinder und Jugendliche wird. Gleichzeitig führen die genannten Veränderungen zu neuen Rahmenbedingungen für die schulische Aufgabe der Qualifikation und auch die Sozialisationseffekte der schulischen Erfahrungen von Schüler:innen geraten in das Zentrum des Blickfeldes. Dadurch zeichnet sich für die Institution Schule ein Spannungsfeld hinsichtlich ihrer Aufgaben der Erziehung (Sozialisation) und der Wissensvermittlung (Qualifikation) ab. Dem Thema Sexualität kommt in Hinblick auf die Entwicklung und Identitätsbildung von Kindern und Jugendlichen ein großer Stellenwert zu, dem auch im Zuge ihrer Sozialisation Rechnung getragen werden muss. Vor dem Hintergrund, dass Kinder und Jugendliche einen großen Teil ihrer Sozialisation in der Schule durchlaufen, muss diese die Aufgabe der sexuellen Bildung wahrnehmen und qualitativ hochwertig umsetzen. Hierfür bedarf es geeigneter Konzepte und Rahmenbedingungen, die den Bedürfnissen der Kinder und Jugendlichen gerecht werden und ihnen die Bewältigung der an sie gestellten Entwicklungsaufgaben in einem geschützten und sicheren Raum ermöglichen. Die vorliegende Arbeit setzt sich mit der Bedeutung von Sexualität und dem Umgang mit dieser in der schulischen Bildung auseinander.

In dieser Ausarbeitung wird versucht mehreren Fragen nach zu gehen. Im ersten Schritt soll der Frage nach gegangen werden, was Sexualität überhaupt ist und was Sexualpädagogik in ihren einzelnen Aspekten aus macht. Sexualpädagogik muss im Kontext ihres historischen Hintergrundes gesehen werden, damit ihre Schwierigkeit für die pädagogische Umsetzung, auch noch heute, erkennbar ist. Als Endresultat dieser Ausarbeitung soll ein Fazit entstehen, in dem ein Ausblick gegeben werden soll, wie der Umgang mit Sexualität im Handlungsfeld Schule aussehen kann, welche Rolle die vermittelnden Personen spielen und welche Herangehensweisen für eine erfolgreiche Sexualerziehung im schulischen Bereich sinnvoll sein können. Um kein Geschlecht zu vernachlässigen werde ich an Stellen in denen beide Geschlechter gemeint sind entweder von „SUS“ (Schülerinnen und Schüler) sprechen oder den Begriff „Edukand“ aus der allgemeinen Pädagogik verwenden. Das Selbe werde ich auch mit „LUL“ (Lehrerinnen und Lehrern) machen die ich ansonsten als „Lehrkraft“ bezeichnen werde.

Die Begegnung mit "Sexualität" findet nicht nur in Form von potenziellen Partnern im sozialen Umfeld und der eigenen Altersgruppe statt. Ebenso ist das Thema Sexualität ein wichtiges Lern- und Erziehungsthema für Lehrer und Lehrerinnen. Hier stellt sich die Frage, wie sich diese beiden Punkte vereinbaren lassen. Das Thema Sexualität ist gerade für die Jugendlichen ein sehr spannendes und neues Thema. Dieses Thema in Verbindung mit dem doch öffentlichen Raum Schule in Zusammenhang zu bringen, wirkt auf den ersten Blick sehr gegensätzlich.
