Download or read book Virtual Airplane vol. 2: Modeling written by Witold Jaworski and published by Witold Jaworski. This book was released on 2023-04-12 with total page 684 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The four volumes of the "Virtual Airplane" series will teach you how to create the model shown on the cover. This guide assumes that you may know nothing about the 3D modeling software, so it starts the course from the very basics. In subsequent chapters the author builds a computer model of the P-40B fighter, gradually introducing new methods and tools. Every step of this workflow is shown in numerous illustrations. This second volume ("Modeling") describes how to build an accurate 3D model of a historical aircraft. You can learn here how to use for this purpose a popular, Open Source program: Blender. It starts with a general introduction to this environment. This guide introduces various modeling techniques, while recreating subsequent parts of the P-40 airframe.

Book excerpt: This book will teach you how to create the model shown on its cover. It assumes that you may know nothing about the 3D modeling software, and starts this course from the very basics. In subsequent chapters the author gradually introduces new methods and tools, on the example of building a model of the P-40B fighter. Every step of this workflow is presented in numerous illustrations. The goal of this book is to encourage all the "plastic modelers" for this new branch of their hobby. To make this hobby more affordable, this course uses solely the free (Open Source) software. This publication may also be interesting to all who would like to master the powerful Blender 3D package. Book Synopsis A Strategic Analysis of Chinese Airline Industry under Online Environment by : Hang Liu
Download or read book A Strategic Analysis of Chinese Airline Industry under Online Environment written by Hang Liu and published by Scientific Research Publishing, Inc. USA. This book was released on 2018-03-29 with total page 111 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The boom of internet is causing another industrial revolution. It is necessary for Chinese airlines to develop E-business in order to keep their competitive advantages. China Southern Airlines is the first Chinese airlines to enter E-business sector and is fairly successful in Chinese civil aviation market. However, comparing with British Airways, current E-business strategy in this company quite falls behind. After a strategic analysis, it is clearly that E-business is a profitable strategy for China Southern Airlines and should be applied further. It is quite urgent for China Southern Airlines to enlarge and improve its E-business strategies so that it can consolidate its leading position in this market segment. Therefore, some reasonable future strategic choices are put forward and a recommendation is given. On the other hand, the explosion of Chinese economy provides a rapid growth of air traffic world widely. British Airways and other foreign airlines would increase their profits significantly from Chinese air market.

Book excerpt: This handbook brings together diverse domains and technical competences of Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) into a single, comprehensive publication. It is intended for researchers, practitioners, and students/educators who require a wide-ranging and authoritative reference on MBSE with a multidisciplinary, global perspective. It is also meant for those who want to develop a sound understanding of the practice of systems engineering and MBSE, and/or who wish to teach both introductory and advanced graduate courses in systems engineering. It is specifically focused on individuals who want to understand what MBSE is, the deficiencies in current practice that MBSE overcomes, where and how it has been successfully applied, its benefits and payoffs, and how it is being deployed in different industries and across multiple applications. MBSE engineering practitioners and educators with expertise in different domains have contributed chapters that address various uses of MBSE and related technologies such as simulation and digital twin in the systems lifecycle. The introductory chapter reviews the current state of practice, discusses the genesis of MBSE and makes the business case. Subsequent chapters present the role of ontologies and meta-models in capturing system interdependencies, reasoning about system behavior with design and operational constraints; the use of formal modeling in system (model) verification and validation; ontology-enabled integration of systems and system-of-systems; digital twin-enabled model-based testing; system model design synthesis; model-based tradespace exploration; design for reuse; human-system integration; and role of simulation and Internet-of-Things (IoT) within MBSE.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Though few realize it, the Netherlands East Indies were the object of Japan’s attack on Pearl Harbor in December 1941. Likewise, their invasions of Guam, Wake Island and the Philippines were mainly diversionary operations to safeguard their main assault on Dutch and British colonies. Since the end of World War I, Japan had coveted the vast East Indies oil reserves, and the colony had feared invasion since Germany overran Holland in May 1940. Isolated politically the weakly defended archipelago was a tempting prize. The East Indies government initially maintained a strict policy of neutrality while desperately working to build up its military strength. As Japanese actions pushed the region toward war, the Dutch reluctantly embraced closer ties with America and Britain. For a brief period, the East Indies were key players in Pacific War strategy. This book details for the first time in English the Dutch prewar strategy, their efforts to counter Japanese espionage and their sizable though largely forgotten military contribution in the early months of the Pacific War.
