'BEAUTIFULLY VICIOUS' Chloe Gong 'AN ENCHANTING DARK FANTASY' Sabaa Tahir Violet is a seer and a liar, influencing the court with her cleverly phrased - and not always true - divinations. Honesty is for suckers, like the oh-so-not-charming Prince Cyrus, who plans to banish her once he's crowned. But when the king orders her to predict Cyrus's love story for an upcoming ball, Violet accidentally awakens a dreaded curse that could ruin them all. Her wits may protect her in the cutthroat court, but they can't change her fate - nor the doomed attraction growing between her and the prince . . . It could happen to anybody. It could. Generally it doesn't, but it could. Because what Rachel soon learns is that Earth is infected with Math, which is why we look at our solar system and see freezing balls of ice, gas, and rock whirling lifelessly through a hostile void. Everyone else sees air pirates sailing the Seven Skies of Saturn, the endless exciting fight scenes of Mars, the sullen ghosts of Pluto, and much more. "More" including the Lighthouse of Ceres, the waypoint for all travelers of the solar system. That's where Rachel ends up, and where she finds out her hobbies of sketching and storytelling make her a genius at repairing Math-free spaceships. She loves it, and no one makes her reveal she's from the quarantined, much-feared planet Earth. Instead they make up their own ideas of who she is and where she's from. Very dangerous ideas...
Book Synopsis Trudging Towards the Truth by : Renee Wolf-Crow DeNunez
Download or read book Trudging Towards the Truth written by Renee Wolf-Crow DeNunez and published by Manda Publishers. This book was released on 2023-07-15 with total page 182 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Dear reader, You may have opened this book and began to read this page wondering; why is it titled “Trudging toward the Truth”? You may be wondering what this book is about, and why you should continue to read on... Well, I will say this, we have all battled darkness in our lives, in one way or another, we have all longed for the truth, and to say finding it isn’t painful, would be a lie. I believe that reading this collection of poems will, at the very least, help you begin your journey toward the truth and away from darkness and pain. If anything; you’ll read words that relate to how you’ve felt in some way, but could not even begin to express...Renee has been through more than anyone I know, and if I were asked to describe her, the first words that come to mind are “resilient” and “relentless.” Darkness casted its shadow upon her like a permanent jumbo umbrella before she could talk. Her mother gave her own life for Renee--I believe in a poor attempt--to make Renee’s better. And ever since then, the search for truth was nothing short of essencial. There’s a quote from a song that I think truly resonates with Renee. It's excerpt says; *"I'll tell the moon, take this weapon forged in darkness, some see a pen, I see a Harpoon.”(excerpt from the song "ode to sleep" by 21 pilots ) This quote resonates with Renee, because she has fought lies, pain, loss, and especially darkness through her writing. A woman who’s lost so much, been deceived by many, hurt by more, been stricken with illness after illness has effortlessly, gracefully, used her pens, paper, and her words as a weapon to fight back whatever evil that’s come her way, and with every word she’s written, I believe she wins a little every time. I also believe that her search for truth, and long lasting battle with darkness has made this sometimes dismal world, a lot brighter. In my honest opinion, To not buy this book, to not turn the page and read on would be a mistake. Because if there’s anyone who can relate to your pain, and help you make peace with it, it’s Renee Wolf- Crow De Nunez.

Book excerpt: An idealistic young medical doctor, Giancarlo Avellino, inspired by a radical colleague, Sigismondo Malatesta decides that the biological hands of time can be scientifically reversed in the elderly, making them young again! Convinced that a combination of pharmaceutical compounds and nutraceutical dietary supplements may be one of the keys to the fountain of youth, he boldly decides to prove it, clinically treating five aging physicians and a sixth surprise volunteer. The results of the treatment at first seem promising, but then a mysterious death occurs, jeopardizing the program. The police and the FDA become involved, paving the way for the U.S. Congress to enter challenging the will of the young doctor to continue his couragous endeavor. Primarily conversational, the bulk of the story is concerned with addressing how people deal with this bold effort, describing their thoughts and their individual reactions to the turning back of their hands of time.
