Book Synopsis The Use of Lidar to Evaluate Existing Incident Management System on I-80 in Morris, Essex, and Passaic Counties in Northern New Jersey by : William Eichinger
Download or read book The Use of Lidar to Evaluate Existing Incident Management System on I-80 in Morris, Essex, and Passaic Counties in Northern New Jersey written by William Eichinger and published by . This book was released on 1998 with total page 100 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This report describes three case studies which showed that traffic incidents can be identified by studying lidar backscatter returns and comparing the abnormally high concentrations of particulates in the incident area to the concentrations found in the air nearby. Implications for this research suggest that a criterion, programmable into an automated sensor network, may be set to serve as an indicator for incidents. The research also lends support to the conclusion that incidents are a major contributor to local air pollution.
