Durch zusätzliche Ausbildungen zum Sozialpädagogen und Lerntherapeuten spezialisierte er sich auf Jugendliche, die in mehreren Bereichen des Lebens besondere psychologische und/oder schulische Unterstützung benötigen, so dass er nun als Lehrer an einem Förderzentrum arbeitet. Schon zuvor durfte Lars Derwisch sportliche und pädagogische Inhalte aus dem Fußball als jahrelanges Redaktionsmitglied einer Trainerzeitschrift publizieren, sowie diese in Fachbüchern veröffentlichen.
