Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: From the Author: My God is kind, compassionate, merciful, and he loves me. Yet, there are questions that arise; there are accounts of God that seem contradictory to my simplicity, and there are accusations against God that can leave me struggling for an explanation. At times I’ve been confused by the concept of God’s love and the reality of life, and there often existed a dichotomy between the two. I wrote this book after numerous conversations with friends who, regardless of their spiritual journey have experienced similar thoughts, or have simply ignored some of the hard questions of life and faith. Common societal thinking in many areas is moving towards a position where people regard God as an outdated fairy-tale with a sinister undertone leading to apathy or resentment towards God. This is far removed from my notion of a living and loving God who is kind, compassionate and merciful. Embarking on my personal journey of discovering God’s reputation, I have a hunch that I’m not alone. I need to explore God and find comfort with the answer. Would you join me on this journey of discovery? Maybe all the dots haven’t been joined, and some of the joined dots remain open to interpretation, yet the line I’ve used to join the dots is what I know of the underlying nature and character of God.

Book excerpt: A beautiful, young bride is murdered at her wedding reception. The next day, one of the wedding guests makes a terrified call to her boyfriend, Neil. She claims to have seen a shadow wearing the blood-covered bridal veil found at the murder scene. Then, the girl disappears. There are many suspects in these two tragedies. Maybe it was Peter, the groom with the wandering eye. Perhaps it was Michelle, the Maid of Honor who seems a bit too fond of Peter. Maybe Neil found out his girlfriend’s secret. Perhaps it was the angry psychiatrist, his wife or her new lover. Most people think it might be Dylan. He’s the creepy office worker with a few unnatural, disturbing tastes of his own! The police must work their way through a growing number of shady suspects as rumors fly and tempers flare. But when more veil sightings and deaths occur, everyone must consider the possibility that nobody wants to face. Perhaps the bride has come back from the dead to take revenge on those who have wronged her!

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In this exciting and challenging account of the development and sustainability of the liberal democratic state, Ajume H. Wingo offers a completely new perspective from that provided by political theorists. Such theorists will typically argue for the basic values of liberal democracies by rationally justifying them. This book argues that it is non-rational factors - rhetoric, symbols, traditions - that more often than not provide the real source of motivation. Drawing from both historical and philosophical sources Ajume H. Wingo demonstrates that these 'veils', as he calls them, can play an essential role in a thriving, stable liberal democratic state. This theory of veil politics furnishes a conceptual framework within which we can reassess the role of aesthetics in politics, the nature and function of political myths in liberal democracies, and the value of civic education.

Book excerpt: The System of Antichrist examines the present religious and cultural scene from the standpoint of traditional metaphysics and critiques the New Age spiritualities within their postmodern context. Its many references to Rene Guenon and Frithjof Schuon also help introduce these important but little-known 'traditionalist' thinkers. The book presents lore relating to the 'latter days' of the present cycle from the vantage point of comparative religion, drawing upon relevant doctrines from Buddhism, Hinduism, Judaism, Christianity, Islam, Zoroastrianism, and the Native American traditions. It also speculates upon the social, psychic, and spiritual nature of that being known to Christianity, Judaism, and Islam as the Antichrist, presenting him as both an individual and a system and warning those willing to be warned against the spiritual seduction and terror he represents, and against the regime which will be-and is-the social expression of that seduction and that terror. Finally, in tracing the roots of Antichrist in the fallen nature of man, the author sketches the particular quality of spirituality proper to apocalyptic times, the dangers it faces, the unique opportunities open to it. And along the way he describes his own course from the 'spiritual revolution' of the 1960s, through the world of New Age spiritualities, to the threshold of traditional esoterism and metaphysics. As he says, speaking of the angst that characterizes the modern world: 'The specific medicine for the shock of despair is the deeper shock of meaning. Nothing but the weight of eternity, breaking through the thin, brittle shell of the postmodern sky, can set us on our feet.'"

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This autobiographical novel completes three other books in which the same author talked about the survivors of the genocide in Rwanda. Advised by his psychologists, the author finally opens his Pandora’s Box to release the memories that have paralyzed his life. He not only recounts his horrific and harrowing experiences during the genocide of the Tutsis but also the difficult period after it, as well as his life prior to that genocide. This autobiographical novel is an open, moving account of the entire life of the author, truly a way of the cross. He gives his testimony on his many narrow and miraculous escapes from death, not only in his own country and at the hands of his own compatriots but also outside of Rwanda, in the Congo (the former Zaire) where he spent three years under unbearable living conditions. The author miraculously left his beloved country in Central Africa for Canada in North America. In his own words he describes the life he had passed through in Rwanda as hell on earth while his life in his new country, Canada, is like paradise on earth.

Book excerpt: With the death of George Washington, symbol of American unity and a man who abhorred factions, comes the two party system. And with it, comes inherent struggle that the young nation is ill prepared for. A dashing Aaron Burr has a grip on New York, and a coup detat is planned that could bring the two leaders down. Madison learns that Napolean Bonaparte has forced the Spanish to turn New Orleans over to him and thereby potentially take control of the Mississippi River Valley. A country as strong as France could stop the aspiring free trade market growing on the Mississippi River, including the business of widow Danny Mulberry, a New Orleans shipping tycoon and one of the most sought after woman in New Orleans. As the young nation's hands are forced economically and politically by France, there is a movement in the Northeast to turn towards England. This could bring them under the Imperial yoke they just shook off. Suddenly the nation is a global nation, as the greatest minds and visionaries of a young America struggle to hold it together. Book excerpt: The perfect calm of an early spring dawn lies over headland and sea-hardly a ripple stirs the blue cheek of the bay. The softness of departing night lies upon the bosom of the Mediterranean like the dew upon the heart of a flower. A silent dawn. Veils of transparent greys and purples and mauves still conceal the distant horizon. Breathless calm rests upon the water and that awed hush which at times descends upon Nature herself when the finger of Destiny marks an eventful hour. But now the grey and the purple veils beyond the headland are lifted one by one; the midst of dawn rises upwards like the smoke of incense from some giant censers swung by unseen, mighty hands. The sky above is of a translucent green, studded with stars that blink and now are slowly extinguished one by one: the green has turned to silver, and the silver to lemon-gold: the veils beyond the upland are flying in the wake of departing Night. The lemon-gold turns to glowing amber, anon to orange and crimson, and far inland the mountain peaks, peeping shyly through the mist, blush a vivid rose to find themselves so fair. And to the south, there where fiery sea blends and merges with fiery sky, a tiny black speck has just come into view. Larger and larger it grows as it draws nearer to the land, now it seems like a bird with wings outspread-an eagle flying swiftly to the shores of France.
