Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book provides state-of-the-art coverage of deep learning applications in image analysis. The book demonstrates various deep learning algorithms that can offer practical solutions for various image-related problems; also how these algorithms are used by scientists and scholars in industry and academia. This includes autoencoder and deep convolutional generative adversarial network in improving classification performance of Bangla handwritten characters, dealing with deep learning-based approaches using feature selection methods for automatic diagnosis of covid-19 disease from x-ray images, imbalance image data sets of classification, image captioning using deep transfer learning, developing a vehicle over speed detection system, creating an intelligent system for video-based proximity analysis, building a melanoma cancer detection system using deep learning, plant diseases classification using AlexNet, dealing with hyperspectral images using deep learning, chest x-ray image classification of pneumonia disease using efficient net and inceptionv3. The book also addresses the difficulty of implementing deep learning in terms of computation time and the complexity of reasoning and modelling different types of data where information is currently encoded. Each chapter has the application of various new or existing deep learning models such as Deep Neural Network (DNN) and Deep Convolutional Neural Networks (DCNN). The detailed utilization of deep learning packages that are available in MATLAB, Python and R programming environments have also been discussed, therefore, the readers will get to know about the practical implementation of deep learning as well. The content of this book is presented in a simple and lucid style for professionals, nonprofessionals, scientists, and students interested in the research area of deep learning applications in image analysis.

Book excerpt: Andreas Riener studies the influence of implicit interaction using vibro-tactile actuators as additional sensory channels for car-driver feedback and pressure sensor arrays for implicit information transmission from the driver toward the vehicle. The results of his experiments suggest the use of both vibro-tactile notifications and pressure sensor images to improve vehicle handling performance and to decrease the driver’s cognitive workload.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Product strategy is the key driver of business strategy and corporate success. This book brings out several important aspects of product strategy, drawing upon examples from the Indian automobile industry, which is verily the bellwether of the Indian economy. The automobile industry is not only a strategic industry economically but also an instructive industry intellectually. The industry is the cradle of modern management and is a synthesis of various functional strategies. The growth of the automobile industry or, for that matter, any consumer-facing industry lies in its ability to maintain a continuous pipeline of new and innovative products, substantive in functionality and stylistic in appearance. The automobile industry provides the perfect backdrop for discussing products as the core of the corporate business strategy. The global automobile industry, including the Indian automobile industry, is at an inflection point with portends of an unprecedented transformation. The drivers of this transformation are already seen in terms of connected vehicles, autonomous mobility, electric vehicles and digital technologies. The book, through its eighty chapters, demonstrates the synergistic interplay between technology and business, strategy and execution, innovation and inventiveness, enterprise and regulation, indigenization and globalization, structure and process, resourcing and spend, and leadership and management. This interplay would determine India’s ability to become a major player in this transformation. This book will be of interest to industry professionals, policy makers, the academic community and the general public.

This book was released on 2001 with total page 352 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This Proceedings contains papers presented at the 2nd IFAC/CIGR International Workshop on 'Bio-Robotics, Information Technology and Intelligent Control for Bioproduction Systems' which was held at Sakai, Osaka, Japan, from November 25-26, 2000. The purpose of the "BIO-ROBOTICS II" workshop was to provide a forum for the presentation of new approaches and results in the study of bioproduction robots, including automated and autonomous machine systems with or without manipulators, information-oriented technology to deal with variability, and intelligence technology for bioproduction systems. The discussions at the workshop focussed on the development of new automated bioproduction systems and the commercialization of various robots. To realize automated bioproduction systems, such as cultivating a field, many kinds of sensing system are obviously required to describe or recognize complex objects, and similar applications are needed in many areas of bio-robotics research. Precision farming and greenhouse technology are new integrated applications that use a systems approach to manage the spatial and temporal variability that is inherent in bioproduction systems. The presentation, discussion and exchange of knowledge, experience and inspiration among the participants during the workshop should aid solutions on global issues such as food shortage, global warming, pollution, and ecosystem instability. These proceedings will also contribute to improving the quality of research and to widen the application fields of bio-robotics, information technology and intelligent control for Bioproduction Systems.
