Download or read book The Self-Aware Parent written by Fran Walfish and published by St. Martin's Press. This book was released on 2010-12-07 with total page 256 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A healthy relationship based on mutual trust is every parent's wish. The bond between infant and parent is a natural phenomenon, but as children reach their preteens and form their own personalities, fireworks between the child and parent can ensue. Drawing on 20 years of clinical experience and new theories on attachment, family therapist and consultant to Parents magazine Dr. Fran Walfish argues that parents need to distinguish their own personality types in order to make more informed decisions about how they interact and raise their own children. This step-by-step guide shows parents: * how to recognize the strength and weaknesses of your parenting style and how it affects your child; * the ways your style might clash with your child's nature, and how to negotiate a common ground; * the vital importance of establishing trust with a preteen to better prepare for turbulent teen years. Written with warmth, authority, and wit, Dr. Walfish holds a gentle mirror up to parents and helps them understand themselves in order to create a closer relationship with their child.

Book Synopsis Advances in Intelligent Process-Aware Information Systems by : Gregor Grambow
Download or read book Advances in Intelligent Process-Aware Information Systems written by Gregor Grambow and published by Springer. This book was released on 2017-05-22 with total page 249 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book provides a state-of-the-art perspective on intelligent process-aware information systems and presents chapters on specific facets and approaches applicable to such systems. Further, it highlights novel advances and developments in various aspects of intelligent process-aware information systems and business process management systems. Intelligence capabilities are increasingly being integrated into or created in many of today’s software products and services. Process-aware information systems provide critical computing infrastructure to support the various processes involved in the creation and delivery of business products and services. Yet the integration of intelligence capabilities into process-aware information systems is a non-trivial yet necessary evolution of these complex systems. The book’s individual chapters address adaptive process management, case management processes, autonomically-capable processes, process-oriented information logistics, process recommendations, reasoning over process models, process portability, and business process intelligence. The primary target groups are researchers and PhD/Master students in the field of information systems.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Welcome to the proceedings of the 3rd Power-Aware Computer Systems (PACS 2003) Workshop held in conjunction with the 36th Annual International Symposium on Microarchitecture (MICRO-36). The increase in power and - ergy dissipation in computer systems has begun to limit performance and has also resulted in higher cost and lower reliability. The increase also implies - ducedbatterylifeinportablesystems.Becauseofthemagnitudeoftheproblem, alllevelsofcomputersystems, includingcircuits, architectures, andsoftware, are being employed to address power and energy issues. PACS 2003 was the third workshop in its series to explore power- and energy-awareness at all levels of computer systems and brought together experts from academia and industry. These proceedings include 14 research papers, selected from 43 submissions, spanningawidespectrumofareasinpower-awaresystems.Wehavegrouped the papers into the following categories: (1) compilers, (2) embedded systems, (3) microarchitectures, and (4) cache and memory systems. The ?rst paper on compiler techniques proposes pointer reuse analysis that is biased by runtime information (i.e., the targets of pointers are determined based on the likelihood of their occurrence at runtime) to map accesses to ener- e?cient memory access paths (e.g., avoid tag match). Another paper proposes compiling multiple programs together so that disk accesses across the programs can be synchronized to achieve longer sleep times in disks than if the programs are optimized separately.

This book is suitable for a second course in Creo Parametric and for users who understand the features already covered in Roger Toogood’s Creo Parametric Tutorial. The style and approach of the previous tutorial have been maintained from the previous book and the text picks up right where the last tutorial left off. The material covered in this tutorial represents an overview of what is felt to be the most commonly used and important functions. These include customization of the working environment, advanced feature creation (sweeps, round sets, draft and tweaks, UDFs, patterns and family tables), layers, Pro/PROGRAM, and advanced drawing and assembly functions. Creo Parametric 8.0 Advanced Tutorial consists of eight lessons. A continuing theme throughout the lessons is the creation of parts for a medium-sized modeling project. The project consists of a small three-wheeled utility cart. Project parts are given at the end of each lesson that utilize functions presented earlier in that lesson. Final assembly is performed in the last lesson. Table of Contents 1. User Customization and Multibody Modeling 2. Helical Sweeps and Variable Section Sweeps 3. Advanced Rounds, Drafts and Tweaks 4.
