Book Synopsis The Arabic Versions of the Gospels by : Hikmat Kashouh
Download or read book The Arabic Versions of the Gospels written by Hikmat Kashouh and published by Walter de Gruyter. This book was released on 2011-11-30 with total page 777 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is concerned with the Arabic versions of the Gospels. It is an attempt to examine a substantial number of Arabic manuscripts which contain the continuous text of the canonical Gospels copied between the eighth and the nineteenth centuries and found in twenty-one different library collections in Europe and the Orient. Following the introduction, Chapter Two presents the state of research from the middle of the nineteenth century to the present time. Chapter Three introduces and reflects on the two hundred plus manuscripts examined in this work. Chapters Four to Eight concentrate on grouping these manuscripts into twenty-four families and examining their Vorlagen (Greek, Syriac, Coptic and Latin). In order to examine the relationship between the families, phylogenetic software is used. Consequently, the manuscripts are grouped into seven different mega clusters or tribes. Finally the date of the first translation of the Gospels into Arabic is addressed and (a) provisional date(s) suggested based on the textual and linguistic analyses of the manuscripts. The conclusion in Chapter Ten gives the overall contribution made by this thesis and also future avenues for the study of the Arabic versions of the Gospels.
Download or read book Bible Basics written by Duncan Heaster and published by duncan heaster. This book was released on 2011-01-05 with total page 122 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Bible Basics is a detailed study of basic Biblical doctrines and teachings. It's a self study guide, with questions at the end of each of the 11 sections. It's designed to go through the basic message of the Bible from start to finish. Bible Basics is a positive presentation of the Gospel, but there are digressions to discuss difficult Bible passages, and to demonstrate that many confusing doctrines such as the Trinity, immortal soul and infant sprinkling are not Biblical nor strictly Christian, but instead merely the creation of mainstream church theologians. The book presents Biblical Christianity. Duncan Heaster is a Christadelphian and the book is also a summary of the doctrines of the Christadelphian faith. The Christadelphian church uses the book as a standard reference.Study 1: God 1.1 The Existence Of God 1.2 The Personality Of God BP 1: Knowing God 1.3 God's Name And Character BP 2: Grace (John Parkes) BP 3: The All Seeing God BP 4: God Is Omnipotent BP 5: Responding To The One God 1.4 The Angels BP 6: God As Creator Dig. 1: God Manifestation Dig. 2: Why The Trinity Was Accepted Study 2: The Spirit Of God 2.1 Definition 2.2 Inspiration 2.3 Gifts Of The Holy Spirit 2.4 The Withdrawal Of The Gifts 2.5 The Bible The Only Authority Dig. 3: Is The Holy Spirit A Person? Book Synopsis The Holy Book Of El Shaddai by : Efren Gamboa
Download or read book The Holy Book Of El Shaddai written by Efren Gamboa and published by Book Venture Publishing LLC. This book was released on 2017-06-30 with total page 730 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Hebrew name of God in the holy writings is El Shaddai. “El” means “God Creator” and “Shaddai” means “Almighty.” El Shaddai is the name of God. Although we read other names given to God in the Old Testament, none of those names are the true name of God. Names such as Lord, Yahweh, and Jehovah were never spoken or pronounced in Israel in the entire Old Testament as their god. Before the Kingdom of Judah fell, El Shaddai warns the Judeans that their false prophets have changed his name with Baal, which is the same name as Lord. “And it shall be at that day,” says El Shaddai, “that you shall call Me Ishi (my beloved) and shall call Me no more Baali (my lord). For I will take away the names of the Baalim (lords) gods out of their mouth and they shall no more be mentioned by their name.”

Jerusalem is indeed a "cup of trembling" and will continue to be so in spite of false peace initiatives.

Book excerpt: What if the key to changing your life--and yourself--is already in your hand? So many women struggle with what to do with their daily lives. They feel trapped in everyday drudgery and disappointment, in dull domestic duties, and in mundane jobs they despise. Where is the abundant, purposeful life they were promised? Kari Patterson shows readers the truth: in each unremarkable life lies an opportunity to see, know, love, and be utterly transformed by a God who meets everyone right where they are. Instead of stepping away from real life to find God, Patterson equips women with a six-step practice to move further in and meet Him in the humdrum moments of everyday existence. And when a woman's inner being is truly changed by the sacred, everything in her world changes too--right down to tackling the dirty dishes. Through entertaining narrative, candid real-life stories, Bible study, and practical instruction, Sacred Mundane guides individuals or small groups to discover the beautiful sacredness in the lives they already lead. Women who long to grow in God and make a real difference in the world--no matter how small--will reach eagerly for this book and the radical transformation it offers. "Our daily routine, with its mundane tasks and mindless repetition, is ultimately an offering of worship to God. What a great truth from a great God!" --Ann Byle, author of The Making of a Christian Bestseller and coauthor of Devotions for the Soul Surfer

Benyamim Tsedaka's expert English translation of the Samaritan Pentateuch is here laid out parallel to the more familiar Masoretic Text, highlighting the more than 6,000 differences between the two versions. In addition to extensive explanatory notes in the margins throughout, the book's detailed appendices show affinities between the Samaritan and Septuagint versions and between the Samaritan and Dead Sea Scroll texts. Concluding the volume is a categorical name index containing a wealth of comparative information.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: You may have heard that one third of the bible is made up of prophecy. But, after reading this book, you will have no doubt the bible is one hundred percent prophecy. What if you could learn how all the events described in the Bible—from the Old Testament to the New Testament—were actually telling us about God’s plan for the future? God’s Timeline for Mankind will forever change the way you view the events in the Bible. Author Dwain Huntington first looks into the lives of the Hebrews in the Old Testament, to show you how their stories are repeating themselves today in modern Israel. Then you will be taken on a journey through the ages, exploring the way events in the heavens repeated themselves on the earth. Ultimately, you will learn about how the fall of mankind has been met with God’s grace and his restoring powers of redemption. What has happened before will happen again—and God shows us this pattern in his prophetic word. God’s Timeline for Mankind gives us great insights into just how these events will affect the lives of those living during what will be the most difficult time this earth will ever see.
