Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Master's Thesis from the year 2019 in the subject Communications - Public Relations, Advertising, Marketing, Social Media, grade: 1, Shanghai Jiao Tong University (Antai College), course: Master of International Business, language: English, abstract: Understanding the adoption of fitness applications is a complex process as it is closely linked with people’s health behaviors and under the influence of manifold of influential forces. This research is focusing on the social perspective on motivation while not neglecting an adoption driven by the need that is concentrated on the mere functionality of an app. The main objective of the research is to discover the underlying social motivation and propensity of users to adopt fitness applications in China. The central question is whether the willingness to adopt a fitness app is being influenced solely by the need to track one’s activities with the help of a tool or if social motivation is playing an essential role in influencing a person’s inclination to adopt this kind of applications. The problem this thesis is trying to understand better is the propensity of people in the initial adoption phase of a fitness application. So, it can be said that the scope of the study is narrowing down the general idea of health to the specific scenario of fitness applications. The main idea and assumption is that social motivation in the adoption of fitness apps is playing the essential role and has to be given great consideration by marketers and businesses. The findings can be adapted to business practices and marketing efforts. The 532 answers gathered in the survey have been looked at from an approach that stays close to the theories leveraged in the development of the variables as well as a model-approach that constructed the possible relationship between the variables. The variables constructed are based on the theories of the lazy user (Need N), social status (SS), social influence (SIN) as well as social impact (SIM). Need N is trying to minimize efforts in an adoption process in order to gain the required functions of an application. Following social status (SS) as a motivator, a person is intrinsically motivated to pursue a goal-directed behavior, in this case, the adoption of a fitness application, in order to adjust, maintain or obtain a perceived social status by others. On the other hand, social influence (SIN) focuses on the external influential stimulusthat is being exerted on the individual and can be separated into the two modes of identification and internalization.

Book Synopsis Understanding and promoting factors which affect healthy ageing: Physical Activity, Sleep Patterns and nutritional habits by : Stevo Popovic
Download or read book Understanding and promoting factors which affect healthy ageing: Physical Activity, Sleep Patterns and nutritional habits written by Stevo Popovic and published by Frontiers Media SA. This book was released on 2024-09-26 with total page 253 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A few clear factors are associated with living longer and healthier — such as higher levels of physical activity, good sleep patterns and proper nutrition. However, despite all the advances that have been made to increase the general population's physical activity, improve their sleep patterns, and boost their nutritional habits, there is still a lot to be done. This Research Topic aims to address the topic of healthy ageing and will consider manuscripts focused on the effects of improving these factors in all ages, from childhood to old age. We are mainly interested in questions of broader interventions at the individual (home settings), group (school, work, and gerontology settings), and societal level (community/based settings). We also welcome papers investigating the short- and long-term effects of environmental factors on physical changes in children, working and old age populations and their development. Correlational and survey studies examining the issues mentioned above are welcome.

Book Synopsis Mobile Health (mHealth) by : Kota Kodama
Download or read book Mobile Health (mHealth) written by Kota Kodama and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2022-10-18 with total page 283 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book examines the current status of mHealth development, regulations and the social background in Japan, South Korea and China, comparing it to the situation in the United States and the European Union and consider solutions to issues surrounding mHealth. The recent progress in mobile technology, represented by smartphones and smart watches, has been remarkable. A service called mobile health (mHealth), which uses such mobile technology to manage health, is also becoming a reality. Although the accuracy of medical devices is not as accurate as those used in medicine, the biometric information such as heart rate and SpO2 can already be monitored over a long period of time. Although the technology is maturing to the point where it can be implemented in society, it remains an unapproved service of medical care in most countries. The development and social implementation of mHealth is most active in the US, but social implementation is gradually progressing in other countries as well. In this book, we will first discuss what kind of global and harmonized regulations are desirable by comparing the regulatory reforms necessary for social implementation of mHealth. In addition, mHealth raises privacy concerns in the US because the usual behavior and biometric information of subjects is utilized by private companies. In addition, it is important to note that the behavior and biometric information of subjects collected by smart devices is automatically analyzed by AI technology, mainly machine learning, which makes the analysis a black box.
