Book excerpt: What would happen if the man in your life picked up your ereader and used it as a road map to make your naughty fantasies come true? LOVE UNBOUND Cat loves her husband. He’s a sweet, tender man and a great father. Their intimate life is… fine. Between kids and careers, they don’t have as much time as she’d like, but she really can’t complain. She is used to being in control –at home, at school –but lately some of the books she’s been reading make her wonder what it would be like to surrender for a change and give control to the man she loves. When Owen overhears his wife’s book club, he gets a “shade” more than he bargained on. How is a sensitive, equal opportunity man supposed to dominate his strong, competent wife? Owen might not be your typical alpha male, but using his scientist’s mind and some careful planning, maybe he can turn his Cat into a kitten—at least for the weekend. BOUND TO PLEASE Anne loves her husband. He is a strong, tender man and a committed father, and he knows everything about her…well almost everything. After nearly twenty years together, she still finds it hard to tell him what she wants. Lately some of the books she’s been reading make her wonder what it would be like to be more adventurous. Matt has it on good authority that Anne’s book club is reading stories that are anything but vanilla. When a friend offers him the use of Studio 1247 to make his wife’s secret fantasies come true, Matt has a chance to plan a weekend that will stretch both their limits and hopefully push them back into each other’s arms. BOUND WITH LOVE When control freak, Beth, tries to get pregnant, she finds out not everything follows her schedule. She wants a family, but it may come at the expense of her marriage. Brad feels like he has one job – knock up his wife – and every time he fails, he feels like less of a man. He’s tired of making love with a purpose but without passion. At a surprise meeting with the husbands of his wife’s book club, Brad finds out Beth’s reading list has strayed far from vanilla. When a friend offers him the use of Studio 1247, he has a chance to help Beth surrender to her secret desires and remember that her body is made for pleasure. Hers and his.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Published in 1962, this is a biography of John Forsyth (1780–1841) who was Governor of Georgia and Secretary of State under both Andrew Jackson and Martin Van Buren. Alvin Laroy Duckett chronicles Forsyth's achievements portraying him as one of Georgia's most versatile and accomplished politicians. Forsyth was elected Attorney General of Georgia at the age of twenty-eight, the first public office he held. He went on to serve as U.S. Representative, Senator, and as a Minister to Spain. He was a leader among a group of southern republicans that helped to win the presidency for Andrew Jackson. Forsyth fought nullification, oversaw the government's response to the Amistad case, and led the pro-removal reply to the Indian Removal Act of 1830. Though he worked primarily at the federal level, Forsyth also contributed greatly to the development of Georgia during his career.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: At the end of the eighteenth century, French geographers faced a crisis. Though they had previously been ranked among the most highly regarded scientists in Europe, they suddenly found themselves directionless and disrespected because they were unable to adapt their descriptive focus easily to the new emphasis on theory and explanation sweeping through other disciplines. Anne Godlewska examines this crisis, the often conservative reactions of geographers to it, and the work of researchers at the margins of the field who helped chart its future course. She tells her story partly through the lives and careers of individuals, from the deposed cabinet geographer Cassini IV to Volney, von Humboldt, and Letronne (innovators in human, physical, and historical geography), and partly through the institutions with which they were associated such as the Encyclopédie and the Jesuit and military colleges. Geography Unbound presents an insightful portrait of a crucial period in the development of modern geography, whose unstable disciplinary status is still very much an issue today.

Book excerpt: 'A beautiful love letter to the diaspora, Haramacy is an essential collection of essays that push the conversation forward on issues to do with visibility, mental health, race and class' Nikesh Shukla 'A superbly crafted collection of essays. Often elegant, often visceral, always essential' Musa Okwonga Journalism in the UK is 94 per cent white and 55 per cent male, while only 0.4 per cent of journalists are Muslim and 0.2 per cent are Black. The publishing industry’s statistics are equally dire. Many publications will use British Black, Indigenous People of Colour when it’s convenient; typically, when the region the writer represents is topical and newsworthy. Otherwise, their voices are left muted. Haramacy amplifies under-represented voices. Tackling topics previously left unspoken, this anthology offers a space for writers to explore ideas that mainstream organisations overlook. Focusing on the experiences of twelve Middle Eastern and South Asian writers, the essays explore visibility, invisibility, love, strength and race, painting a picture of what it means to feel fractured - both in the UK and back home. Appreciating both heritage and adopted home, the anthology highlights the various shades that make up our society. The title, Haramacy, is an amalgamation of the Arabic word ‘haram’, meaning indecent or forbidden, and the English word ‘pharmacy’, implying a safe, trustworthy space that prescribes the antidote to ailments caused by intersectional, social issues. The book features contributions by novelists, journalists, and artists including Aina J. Khan, Ammar Kalia, Cyrine Sinti, Joe Zadeh, Kieran Yates, Nasri Atallah, Nouf Alhimiary, Saleem Haddad and Sanjana Varghese, as well as essays by editors Dhruva Balram, Tara Joshi and Zahed Sultan.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In Dickinson Unbound, Alexandra Socarides takes readers on a journey through the actual steps and stages of Emily Dickinson's creative process. In chapters that deftly balance attention to manuscripts, readings of poems, and a consideration of literary and material culture, Socarides takes up each of the five major stages of Dickinson's writing career: copying poems onto folded sheets of stationery; inserting and embedding poems into correspondence; sewing sheets together to make fascicles; scattering loose sheets; and copying lines on often torn and discarded pieces of household paper. In so doing, Socarides reveals a Dickinsonian poetics starkly different from those regularly narrated by literary history. Here, Dickinson is transformed from an elusive poetic genius whose poems we have interpreted in a vacuum into an author who employed surprising (and, at times, surprisingly conventional) methods to wholly new effect. Dickinson Unbound gives us a Dickinson at once more accessible and more complex than previously imagined. As the first authoritative study of Dickinson's material and compositional methods, this book not only transforms our ways of reading Dickinson, but advocates for a critical methodology that insists on the study of manuscripts, composition, and material culture for poetry of the nineteenth century and thereafter.

Organized by work and thoroughly indexed, this book offers a unique view of the composer and his works. The individual entries include details about each piece, along with publication data and music examples to confirm the content. The result is the fullest assessment of Bozza’s efforts, since it covers all the published works and also music the composer left in manuscript. This unique volume, which includes an introduction to Bozza’s life and music, as well as several indexes, is the essential reference on this important French, twentieth-century composer. It belongs both in reference collections and in the hands of researchers and performers.
