Book Synopsis Turismo y relaciones internacionales. Aspectos sociales, culturales, económicos y ambientales by : Esteban Alonso, Alfonso de
Download or read book Turismo y relaciones internacionales. Aspectos sociales, culturales, económicos y ambientales written by Esteban Alonso, Alfonso de and published by Librería-Editorial Dykinson. This book was released on 2014-09-19 with total page 240 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.
Download or read book Turismo de masas y modernidad: un enfoque sociológico written by Julio Aramberri and published by CIS. This book was released on 2011-12 with total page 473 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.
Book Synopsis Sociología del turismo by : Álvarez Sousa, Antonio
Download or read book Sociología del turismo written by Álvarez Sousa, Antonio and published by CIS. This book was released on 2019-12-03 with total page 329 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book Synopsis The Legal Framework of the OSCE by : Mateja Steinbrück Platise
Download or read book The Legal Framework of the OSCE written by Mateja Steinbrück Platise and published by Cambridge University Press. This book was released on 2019-05-30 with total page 801 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), the world's largest regional security organisation, possesses most of the attributes traditionally ascribed to an international organisation, but lacks a constitutive treaty and an established international legal personality. Moreover, OSCE decisions are considered mere political commitments and thus not legally binding. As such, it seems to correspond to the general zeitgeist, in which new, less formal actors and forms of international cooperation gain prominence, while traditional actors and instruments of international law are in stagnation. However, an increasing number of voices - including the OSCE participating states - have been advocating for more formal and autonomous OSCE institutional structures, for international legal personality, or even for the adoption of a constitutive treaty. The book analyses why and how these demands have emerged, critically analyses the reform proposals and provides new arguments for revisiting the OSCE legal framework.
Book Synopsis Perikles and His Circle by : Anthony J. Podlecki
Download or read book Perikles and His Circle written by Anthony J. Podlecki and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2013-09-05 with total page 262 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Perikles, the creator of the reputation of Classical Athens was an enigmatic figure. This book traces Perikles' development from a somewhat hesitant, though left-leaning politician, to a mature statesman fully committed to expanding Athens' maritime empire and using the material benefits of that empire to improve the ordinary lives of Athenian citizens. Podlecki examines Perikles' actions and interactions with a large and varied circle of friends, acquaintances, and political adversaries and shows how his circle of friends advised and influenced his development as a leader. Perikles, the 'first citizen', as Thucydides termed him, was a man characterised by a subtle versatility and tenacity of purpose. Of paramount importance was that Athenians be made to appreciate their superiority, and also develop a willingness to assert it, even if that meant war with the Spartans and their allies. Podlecki examines the wealth of sources and documentation on Perikles to provide a lucid account of the achievements of the man, which is both comprehensive and eminently readable.
Book Synopsis The Politics and Power of Tourism in Palestine by : Rami K. Isaac
Download or read book The Politics and Power of Tourism in Palestine written by Rami K. Isaac and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2015-12-14 with total page 293 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Tourism in Palestine has been receiving an increasingly important profile given its economic and religious importance and the significant role it plays in Israeli-Palestinian relations, representation of Palestinian statehood and identity, and wider Middle Eastern politics. Nevertheless, Palestine, like much of the Middle East as a whole, remains extremely underrepresented in tourism literature. This title aims to fill this void by being the first book dedicated to exploring the significance of tourism in relationship to Palestine. The book examines the role of tourism in Palestine at three main levels. First, it provides an overview of destination management and marketing issues for the tourism industry in Palestine and addresses not only the visitor markets and the economic significance of tourism but also the realities of the difficulties of destination management, marketing and promotion of the Palestinian state. Second, it provides a series chapters and case studies that interrogate not only the various forms of tourism in Palestine but also its economic, social, environmental and spiritual importance. This section also conveys a dimension to tourism in Palestine that is not usually appreciated in the Western mainstream media. The third section indicates the way in which tourism in Palestine highlights broader questions and debates in tourism studies and the way in which travel in the region is framed in wider discourses. A significant dimension of the book is the attention it gives to the different voices of stakeholders in Palestinian tourism at varying levels of scale. This timely volume will offer the reader significant insight into the challenges and issues of tourism in this area now and in the future. It will benefit those interested in tourism, Middle East studies, politics, economics, development studies and geography.
