This book was released on 2001-09-25 with total page 392 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book offers the first strong evidence of the existence of CP violation in neutral B decays extracted from sophisticated B factories in the US and Japan. It also holds out the expectation of rare B decays and D, K physics in the near future. In addition, new physics beyond the Standard Model is described. Both experimental and theoretical points of view are given.
Book Synopsis Charming New Physics in Beautiful Processes? by : Matthew John Kirk
Download or read book Charming New Physics in Beautiful Processes? written by Matthew John Kirk and published by Springer. This book was released on 2019-05-17 with total page 225 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This PhD thesis is dedicated to a subfield of elementary particle physics called “Flavour Physics”. The Standard Model of Particle Physics (SM) has been confirmed by thousands of experimental measurements with a high precision. But the SM leaves important questions open, like what is the nature of dark matter or what is the origin of the matter-antimatter asymmetry in the Universe. By comparing high precision Standard Model calculations with extremely precise measurements, one can find the first glimpses of the physics beyond the SM – currently we see the first hints of a potential breakdown of the SM in flavour observables. This can then be compared with purely theoretical considerations about new physics models, known as model building. Both precision calculations and model building are extremely specialised fields and this outstanding thesis contributes significantly to both topics within the field of Flavour Physics and sheds new light on the observed anomalies.

Book Synopsis 16th Conference on Flavor Physics and CP Violation by : Anjan Giri
Download or read book 16th Conference on Flavor Physics and CP Violation written by Anjan Giri and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2019-11-13 with total page 493 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Presenting the proceedings of FPCP 2018, this book reviews the status quo of flavor physics and discusses the latest findings in this exciting area. Flavor physics has been instrumental in the formulation and understanding of the standard model, and it is possible that the direction of new physics will be significantly influenced by flavor sector, also known as the intensity frontier, making it possible to indirectly test the existence of new physics up to a very high scale, beyond that of the energy frontier scale accessible at the LHC. The book is intended for academics around the globe involved in particle physics research, professionals associated with the related technologies and those who are interested in learning about the future of physics and its prospects and directions.
