Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: I will make this bold statement straight away, "This book finds big priced winners in UK handicap horse races" easily and consistently!I need to make a very important statement here backing double figure priced horses can return some huge profits but you must remember they all do not win, more will lose races which is to be expected. There is a reason why the horse is such a big price it is mainly due to the fact the horse has not won for a long time. Another reason is that a horse could be out of its depth in other words running in a higher class of race. Most punters want winners every day at any odds this makes them feel good. They think they are making a profit, how wrong they are and the bookmakers take their money every day with a smile on their faces.Another mistake the average punter makes is that they will take current SP starting price of a horse and not look for a larger price. So say a horse is 2/1 that's decimal odds 3.0 on the Betfair betting exchange. They will readily take these odds. A more profitable approach is to take higher odds like decimal odds 3.5. Ok you might think there is not much difference between decimal odds 3.0 and 3.5 but it adds up over a year and that is where your profit is. The only way to profit in horse racing is to back horses at larger odds than what is being offered. The betting exchanges show the true odds of a horse just before the race starts. As these odds are derived from many punters and bookmakers who are using the betting exchanges then the price of the horse before the race starts is its true odds. This price is a consolidated view and it is normally correct and near the mark. This system also finds large priced horses that are placed 1st 2nd 3rd or 4th regularly in a horse race and these can be exploited in the Betfair place market at some juicy odds. I have taken decimal odds of 7.0 on four places in a horse race and mopped up.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Do you want to implment your own automatic UK horse racing system? This is not as easy as you think and it took me quite some time to implement a UK horse racing handicap system that worked automatically on a daily basis. During my journey there were many times I wish I had never started the project. I had over 25 years of I.T. experience in SQL, Unix and relational database technologies and I thought it would be a stroll in the park! How wrong I was I had underestimated how large and the number of tasks that would be involved in the implementation of this automatic UK horse racing handicap system. This book covers all aspects of this implementation including the algorithm that is used in the horse racing system to pick winning horse selections in UK handicap horse races automatically. When I say automatic what I mean by this is when the horse racing system is run a small selection of horses would be produced that could qualify as potential bets. With this in mind I would say the horse UK racing system was 95% automatic which is pretty good. How long would it take to trawl through horse form for every horse in every race! I wrote this book to help punters create a similar automatic UK horse racing handicap system that works and explain the pitfalls so they can implement it quicker and more smoothly. You will need to be an existing punter who has the basic understanding of UK horse form and an above average understanding of computers. Implementing a decent UK horse racing system cannot be achieved in days it's more like months so be prepared to put some hard work into its implementation. An alternate solution is to outsource the work but this will cost quite a large amount of money. You will learn more implementing it yourself and gain some satisfaction from your labours.

Book excerpt: I graduated from University with a computer science degree many years ago when a degree meant something! I was always interested in horse racing and was fascinated in solving the UK horse racing form puzzle. I started my own computer business in my early 20’s where I made good money and travelled across Europe. It was at this point in my life I decided to start a horse tipping business where I had weekly full page colour adverts in the Racing Post at £2K per advert and offices. I left the running of this horse tipping business to staff who were responsible for all parts of the business while I concentrated on my computer business. In my late 30’s around 1990 I decided to use my computer skills to computerise and model UK horse racing form using a database built with 10 years of detailed horse racing form. It was over a period of 2 years that I concentrated my efforts on UK handicap races in conjunction with the betting exchange Betfair. This is where I believed maximum profit could be gained. The computer model allowed me to process 100’s of handicap races per day and then formulate my system tweeking a horse’s weight and BHB or OR ( Official Rating ). I must confess this was a difficult puzzle to crack even with a computer program that I wrote to crunch the data. I eventually found the correct weight and BHB rating for a horse based on it’s last performances in handicap races. This eBook outlines this system and can be manually applied easily using the Racing Post on the internet.

Book excerpt: The system works for UK Handicap and Non Handicap races but I tend to favour Handicap races as the prices are larger. I will concentrate only on Handicap races in this book. In summary the system works on two form variables that can be obtained from the Racing Post website and a race can be assessed in 5 minues. This horse racing system can find winners of a UK horse race very quickly and allows punters who have busy lives to assess horse form very quickly. I wrote this horse racing system as I had many emails from punters who wanted to have a bet on Saturday or day at the races but did not want to spend hours reading horse form. This system can benefit novice to professional punters.

This has cost me financially due to the many mistakes I made along the way. If you have not lost money whilst learning to race read you have not been putting enough skin in the game! Quite simply it's the Sniper UK horse racing system that laser pinpoints horses as potential bets and trust me you will have a great deal of confidence when the system does identify horses as potential bets.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Gambler Who Cracked the Horse-Racing Code Bill Benter did the impossible: He wrote an algorithm that couldn't lose at the track. Close to a billion dollars later, he tells his system. This book examines the elements necessary for a practical and successful computerized horse race handicapping and wagering system. Data requirements, handicapping model development, wagering strategy, and feasibility are addressed. A logit-based technique and a corresponding heuristic measure of improvement are described for combining a fundamental handicapping model with the public's implied probability estimates. The author reports significant positive results in five years of actual implementation of such a system. This result can be interpreted as evidence of inefficiency in pari-mutuel racetrack wagering. This paper aims to emphasize those aspects of computer handicapping which the author has found most important in practical application of such a system. Also included the Bill Benter "What Are My Odds?" Presentation at ICCM in 2004.

Book excerpt: The degree to which markets incorporate information is one of the most important questions facing economists today. This book provides a fascinating study of the existence and extent of information efficiency in financial markets, with a special focus on betting markets. Betting markets are selected for study because they incorporate features highly appropriate to a study of information efficiency, in particular the fact that each bet has a well-defined end point at which its value becomes certain. Using international examples, this book reviews and analyses the issue of information efficiency in both financial and betting markets. Part I is an extensive survey of the existing literature, while Part II presents a range of readings by leading academics. Insights gained from the book will interest students of financial economics, financial market analysts, mathematicians and statisticians, and all those with a special interest in finance or gambling.
