Book excerpt: Even though your twin flame is the source of your joys, they are also your triggers to experience your darkest fears. Everything buried within — every darkest secret comes to the surface to be exposed to the Light of your twin flame awakening. Your spiritual awakening process is a discarding journey to shed negative energy. To cleanse and purify your energy. It is one of the most excruciating experiences because the energy-purging process also involves the most trying Spiritual experience: The night of the Soul. It feels painful whenever you are challenged to unlearn your bad habits to learn healthy new ones. A twin flame irritates you because they are the source of the triggers of your pain. Even though you run from a twin flame, you still go through the frustrating growth process to transform into your authentic self. The further you run the more you are reminded of the sacredness of your bond. Nothing beats inner knowing — everything within you accepts your twin flame. They are the most important people in your life. Sometimes your energetic connection is very overwhelming and scares them off. Even when you are treading the highs and lows of your twin flame process, it is your intuition to guide you as a compass to figure out whatever is not working so that you can fix it. I always advise twin flame newbies to trust their inner knowing — you will never go wrong. Most of the frustration happens when you seek answers outside yourself. Sometimes you seek outside validation to confirm if your connection is authentic. No one knows how you feel within even though you tried to explain it a million times to a non-twin flame, you will still be left confused and disoriented. You learn later during your twin flame process that you are the answer. Here are more of a running twin flame's confessions. Stay Blessed!

Nobody can make you do anything in your twin flame journey. Secondly, divine feminine and masculine energies are not represented by gender or sex. Also, regardless of your gender, you possess both divine masculine and feminine energies even though one can have a more dominant energy than the other. Also, the other thing to note is that you are free to date other people if you want to because you have free will. Meeting a twin flame does not mean that they are your perfect relationship partner. Some encounters are purely non-romantic. You feel a Spiritual connection with someone but you are not attracted to them in any way physically. There are so many layers to the twin flame connection. When it comes to the romantic experience of the connection, a twin flame can run into other karmic relations. There are instances when twin flames meet each other while still in existing relationships or marriages. Remember your encounter is surprising and unexpected. Everything else unfolds when you are separated from each other. This is when you look for answers to your situation. You are free to date anyone else or dissolve your karmic ties because you have free will. Jumping into new relationships after your twin flame encounter does not stop your twin flame connection from existing. The bond is natural to you. You carry their essence with you everywhere you go. Twin flame separation is an illusion indeed because you have an eternal spiritual connection that cannot be defined by the human mind. You must feel the connection within you first to understand what the twin flame connection is all about. I hope my perspective helps you. Stay Blessed!

Book excerpt: The New York Times bestselling author of The Wait and “spiritual teacher for our times” (Oprah Winfrey) frankly and openly explores why men behave the way they do and what everyone—men and women alike—need to know about it. We hear it all the time. Men cheat. Men love power. Men love sex. Men are greedy. Men are dogs. But is this really the truth about men? In this groundbreaking book, DeVon Franklin dishes the real truth by making the compelling case that men aren’t dogs but all men share the same struggle. He provides the manual for how men can change, both on a personal and a societal level by providing practical solutions for helping men learn how to resist temptation, how to practice self-control, and how to love. But The Truth About Men isn’t just for men. DeVon tells female readers everything they need to know about men. He offers women a real-time understanding of how men’s struggles affect them, insights that can help them navigate their relationships with men and information on how to heal from the damage that some misbehaving men may have inflicted. This book is a raw, informative, and accessible look at an issue that threatens to tear our society apart yet it offers a positive way forward for men and women alike.

Book excerpt: In this simple and easy to read a book, I am discussing with you my experiences of awakening to the love that I feel for my Twin Flame as a runner from the connection. Please allow me to use the Labels of "Runner" and "Chaser" because these are the generic terms that are mostly used to describe the energy dynamics that transpire during the process of energetic push and pull to and fro by the Twin Flames between themselves. Therefore, in this book the term "runner" label simply represents the Twin Flame who is denying the connection and they use all different kinds of methods to hide from their Twin Flame partner while the "chaser" label is representing the Twin Flame who is holding on to the connection and also left wondering why their Twin Flame partner is running from the connection. This simple book will answer some of the following mostly asked questions by Twin Flames: Do Twin Flame runners realize that the love they feel for their divine partner is genuine? What happens when a Twin Flame runner awakens to the connection?Does the Twin Flame runner still love their divine counterpart during the time of separation and silence? What happens when the runner Twin Flame tries to find other Karmic relationships or chooses to get married to someone else other than their Twin Flame partner?Does the Twin Flame runner still think of the chaser during the long quiet physical separation period? What experiences take place when the Twin Flame runner tries to reconcile with the Twin Flame partner? What is the Twin Flame chaser's response to the return of the runner counterpart?Does the Twin Flame runner ever return to their divine counterpart? This book will be answering all the above questions and many more that you have about the experiences of a runner Twin Flame.Stay Blessed

Book excerpt: An overview of the art historical antecedents to virtual reality and the impact of virtual reality on contemporary conceptions of art. Although many people view virtual reality as a totally new phenomenon, it has its foundations in an unrecognized history of immersive images. Indeed, the search for illusionary visual space can be traced back to antiquity. In this book, Oliver Grau shows how virtual art fits into the art history of illusion and immersion. He describes the metamorphosis of the concepts of art and the image and relates those concepts to interactive art, interface design, agents, telepresence, and image evolution. Grau retells art history as media history, helping us to understand the phenomenon of virtual reality beyond the hype. Grau shows how each epoch used the technical means available to produce maximum illusion. He discusses frescoes such as those in the Villa dei Misteri in Pompeii and the gardens of the Villa Livia near Primaporta, Renaissance and Baroque illusion spaces, and panoramas, which were the most developed form of illusion achieved through traditional methods of painting and the mass image medium before film. Through a detailed analysis of perhaps the most important German panorama, Anton von Werner's 1883 The Battle of Sedan, Grau shows how immersion produced emotional responses. He traces immersive cinema through Cinerama, Sensorama, Expanded Cinema, 3-D, Omnimax and IMAX, and the head mounted display with its military origins. He also examines those characteristics of virtual reality that distinguish it from earlier forms of illusionary art. His analysis draws on the work of contemporary artists and groups ART+COM, Maurice Benayoun, Charlotte Davies, Monika Fleischmann, Ken Goldberg, Agnes Hegedues, Eduardo Kac, Knowbotic Research, Laurent Mignonneau, Michael Naimark, Simon Penny, Daniela Plewe, Paul Sermon, Jeffrey Shaw, Karl Sims, Christa Sommerer, and Wolfgang Strauss. Grau offers not just a history of illusionary space but also a theoretical framework for analyzing its phenomenologies, functions, and strategies throughout history and into the future.

Book excerpt: In this new book, Bauman examines how we have moved away from a 'heavy' and 'solid', hardware-focused modernity to a 'light' and 'liquid', software-based modernity. This passage, he argues, has brought profound change to all aspects of the human condition. The new remoteness and un-reachability of global systemic structure coupled with the unstructured and under-defined, fluid state of the immediate setting of life-politics and human togetherness, call for the rethinking of the concepts and cognitive frames used to narrate human individual experience and their joint history. This book is dedicated to this task. Bauman selects five of the basic concepts which have served to make sense of shared human life - emancipation, individuality, time/space, work and community - and traces their successive incarnations and changes of meaning. Liquid Modernity concludes the analysis undertaken in Bauman's two previous books Globalization: The Human Consequences and In Search of Politics. Together these volumes form a brilliant analysis of the changing conditions of social and political life by one of the most original thinkers writing today.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This carefully crafted ebook: "ULYSSES (Modern Classics Series)" is formatted for your eReader with a functional and detailed table of contents. Ulysses is a modernist novel by Irish writer James Joyce. It is considered to be one of the most important works of modernist literature, and has been called "a demonstration and summation of the entire movement". Ulysses chronicles the peripatetic appointments and encounters of Leopold Bloom in Dublin in the course of an ordinary day, 16 June 1904. Ulysses is the Latinised name of Odysseus, the hero of Homer's epic poem Odyssey, and the novel establishes a series of parallels between its characters and events and those of the poem (the correspondence of Leopold Bloom to Odysseus, Molly Bloom to Penelope, and Stephen Dedalus to Telemachus). Joyce divided Ulysses into 18 chapters or "episodes". At first glance much of the book may appear unstructured and chaotic; Joyce once said that he had "put in so many enigmas and puzzles that it will keep the professors busy for centuries arguing over what I meant", which would earn the novel "immortality". James Joyce (1882-1941) was an Irish novelist and poet, considered to be one of the most influential writers in the modernist avant-garde of the early 20th century. Joyce is best known for Ulysses, the short-story collection Dubliners, and the novels A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man and Finnegans Wake.

Book excerpt: This book by the legendary Situationist activist and author of The Revolution of Everyday Life examines the heretical and millenarian movements that challenged social and ecclesiastical authority in Europe from the 1200s into the 1500s. Although Vaneigem discusses a number of different movements such as the Cathars and Joachimite millenarians, his main emphasis is on the various manifestations of the Movement of the Free Spirit in northern Europe. He sees not only resistance to the power of state and church but also the immensely creative invention of new forms of love, sexuality, community, and exchange. Vaneigem is particularly interested in the radical opposition presented by these movements to the imperatives of an emerging market-based economy, and he evokes crucial historical parallels with the antisystemic rebellions of the 1960s. The book includes translations of original texts and source materials.

Other narrators include: ABEER, a young journalist from Gaza City who launched her career by covering bombing raids on the Gaza Strip. IBTISAM, the director of a multi-faith children’s center in the West Bank whose dream of starting a similar center in Gaza has so far been hindered by border closures. She had scraped together what previous generations of trans women could only dream of: a life of mundane, bourgeois comforts. The only thing missing was a child. But then her girlfriend, Amy, detransitioned and became Ames, and everything fell apart. Now Reese is caught in a self-destructive pattern: avoiding her loneliness by sleeping with married men. Ames isn't happy either. He thought detransitioning to live as a man would make life easier, but that decision cost him his relationship with Reese—and losing her meant losing his only family. Even though their romance is over, he longs to find a way back to her. When Ames's boss and lover, Katrina, reveals that she's pregnant with his baby—and that she's not sure whether she wants to keep it—Ames wonders if this is the chance he's been waiting for. Could the three of them form some kind of unconventional family—and raise the baby together? This provocative debut is about what happens at the emotional, messy, vulnerable corners of womanhood that platitudes and good intentions can't reach. Torrey Peters brilliantly and fearlessly navigates the most dangerous taboos around gender, sex, and relationships, gifting us a thrillingly original, witty, and deeply moving novel.

Book excerpt: A stimulating, eclectic accountof new media that finds its origins in old media, particularly the cinema. In this book Lev Manovich offers the first systematic and rigorous theory of new media. He places new media within the histories of visual and media cultures of the last few centuries. He discusses new media's reliance on conventions of old media, such as the rectangular frame and mobile camera, and shows how new media works create the illusion of reality, address the viewer, and represent space. He also analyzes categories and forms unique to new media, such as interface and database. Manovich uses concepts from film theory, art history, literary theory, and computer science and also develops new theoretical constructs, such as cultural interface, spatial montage, and cinegratography. The theory and history of cinema play a particularly important role in the book. Among other topics, Manovich discusses parallels between the histories of cinema and of new media, digital cinema, screen and montage in cinema and in new media, and historical ties between avant-garde film and new media.
